1920 SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP. 72 page booklet produced by a Chilean magazine containing reports on every game played in the 1920 South American Football Championship, good condition, slight ageing to edges of the pages.Obviously rare, lengthy reports ( in Spanish) of the games which included Uruguay 6-0 winners v Brazil. Other teams comprise Chile and Argentina. Good
MIDDLESBROUGH / GLOSSOP Rare programme for game involving Glossop during their Football League games although this is actually a FA Cup game. Full 16 page Middlesbrough home programme v Glossop, with covers and dated 14/1/1911. Slight ageing but generally good condition with the spine having been professionally re-attached. Glossop entered the Football League in season 1900-01 and remained members until the end of 1914-15 season when they finished bottom of Division 2. The programme includes a Glossop team group and they put up a spirited performance losing by the only goal. Generally good

This was the game which inspired the book "George Best and 21 others" by Colin Shindler) and the Final v Swindon which matched Best v Don Rogers of Swindon. Fair-generally good

A late 19th Century French Wall Mounted Comtoise Wall Clock, the embossed brass surround decorated with a hunter and hound with game, to an 8 ½” Roman enamel dial with outside minute track and signed to the centre C H Limousin a Navarrenx, and with pierced brass hands, to a weight-driven movement with brass and steel pendulum and bob, height 16”
A PAIR OF FRENCH GILT BRONZE AND ENAMEL VASES in Louis XVI style and inset with pairs of oval plaques of 17th c scenes of a game of chess or challenge to a dual and a gentleman paying a compliment to a kitchen maid or a prince and another nobleman visiting a house by night by Sieffert, all signed, in cartouche shaped frames with masks, the sides with swags and paterae over diaper trellis, on spirally fluted foot and marble plinth, 34cm h, c1890 Louis-Eugène Sieffert (b1842) is better know for his decoration on porcelain, in particular Sèvres. In London, he decorated Coalport and Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co porcelain for the retailer, A B Daniell & Co. Much accretion of dirt and grime but in fine entirely original condition, the enamels undamaged and free from restoration, the vases also fine, the gilding worn in places and with old discoloured lacquer or polish, the marble plinths slightly chipped
A PAIR OF VINCENNES BLEU LAPIS BEAKERS finely painted to both sides with panels of musical instruments including a bass viol or bagpipes and a tambourine, or game, a rifle and table with a bottle and napkin, all in sylvan settings in cisélé gilt cartouches with flowers and reeds, the rims dentilated on the interior and exterior, 7cm h, incised A and one or two dashes, painted interlaced Ls enclosing the date letter B for 1754-55 and painter`s mark y at 12 o`clock in blue Svend Eriksen and Sir Geoffrey de Bellaigue have suggested the painter`s mark is that of Pierre-Francois Yvernel (Sèvres, p167, no 135). See also D Peters, Decorator and Date Marks on 18th century Vincennes and Sèvres Porcelain, 1997, p85. Provenance: An English private collection since the late 19th century. One with tiny chip (really only a graze) on the edge of the base, partly gilded over during manufacture. The other with several small, old filled rim chips. No recent or `professional` restoration or regilding.
