Holland & Holland A fine pair of 12-bore Casbard engraved "Model de Luxe" self-opening sidelock ejector guns nos. 41152/3 the 28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers about 1/4 and 1/2 choke borings the frames locks and gold numbered top-levers engraved with foliate scroll engraving over a lined ground each lock with a scene of pheasants in flight against tree top scenes the action bases with a single bird in a woodland scene the locks signed by the engraver G. Casbard retaining all of their bright cyanide hardened finish gold lined cocking indicators and rolled edge trigger guards 14 5/8-inch highly figured stocks nitro proof in their makers lightweight leather case with canvas outer cover 6lb. 7oz. The makers confirm that the guns were completed in 1992. They appear little used and retain almost all of their original finish. Geoffrey Casbard is one of the most renowned of modern gun engravers. Apprenticed to James Purdey & Sons in 1954 he was trained by Harry Kell alongside Ken Hunt. Especially known for his acanthus work and delicate game scenes freelance since 1970 he is today best known for his work for Holland & Holland.

The gun is built to the very highest quality and has been renovated to a very high standard.

The gun appears little used.
