A 12-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN SIGNED 'EDINBURGH', serial no. 720, circa 1860, with round 32in. barrel, carved concave sighting rib signed 'EDINBURGH', white metal bead fore-sight, squared patent breech with carved snail (traces of colour), the top of breech-block engraved with a pheasant on a log, fully engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved lock featuring a hunting dog flushing a gamebird on the bar, engraved slab-sided dolphin headed hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, engraved iron furniture featuring a rabbit on the heel-plate spur and a further hunting dog flushing game on the trigger guard bow, horn tip to fore-end and original brass mounted ramrod.
