Monel bright finish alloy, counter balanced handle over star drag clutch stamped Patent Applied for, (pre 1939) 2 Royal Appointment crests impressed to face plate, twin Squirt Oil screws adjacent to handle hub, original leather thumb brake, twin harness lugs to top double pillar assembly, correct one piece foot blade with central hole on H frame to side plates, back plate on/off lever, two stamps; "Made by Hardy Bros, Alnwick England" and "The Hardy Zane Grey 7" To Hold 1000 yards 39 Thread". Complete with correct Hardy nickel plated oil bottle, makers details stamped to base, fine condition fitted Hardy Zane Grey block leather case with original ivorine makers plaque to under side of lid, original cross fastening straps with brass buckles, fine condition. A pair of twisted wire Tunny traces with hand forged hooks and swivels, Plus three original black and white photographs showing the tackle shop window display of Pritchard`s of Scarborough during the Tunny festival with 2 Mitchell-Henry reels mounted on rods, a photo of three huge Tunny of 536,707 and 785 lbs, pencil dated to rear Feb 3rd? A photograph on board showing a 526lb Tunny, signed A Tansy 4th Sept 1947 plus another indistinct signature to lower right corner. A copy of this photograph appears on page 94 in Marks Ross`s excellent book The Glory Days of the Giant Scarborough Tunny, 2010 and a number of facsimile hand written letters to Pritchard from Col Peel Edgerton of Tatton and TOM Sopwith discussing Tunny fishing in general.
