Scarce Barbarian match worn players shirt: No. 9 long sleeve shirt worn by Rob Howley (Wales, Cardiff and Wasps) c/w Scottish amicable sponsors logo and the number nine on the back. Note: Howley was considered one of the greatest ever scrum-halves and gained 59 caps for Wales, 22 of them as captain. Howley was selected for the British Lions in 1997 but was injured but did make the 2001 British and Irish Lions tour to Australia playing in 2 tests before injury, Howley moved from Cardiff to Wasps and retired from international rugby. A wrist injury saw Howley announce his retirement from the game in 2004.
Early collection of "The Rugby Football Union-Bye Laws and the Laws of the Game" handbooks – (first established in 1892) as issued in 1895/96: 1899/1900: 1904/1905 and 1906/07 – to include plan of the field which altered between 1895 and 1906 the latter showing the introduction of 25yd and 10 yd lines, bylaws, the various rugby districts covering the whole of England, the laws of the game of football, since the issue of the new code in October 1892, regulations governing County qualifications, rules as to professionalism, rules for deciding the County championship together with a full list of clubs belonging to the Union at September 1895, together with rules governing a maximum of 15 players, and in 1906/7 complete fixture list for the tour of South Africa together with carefully hand written results of the tour up to and including the match against England - note all the handbooks retain their original leather and gilt boards although 1899 and 1904 need rebinding - again besides the 1895 Handbook the rest contain numerous hand written annotations throughout – an interesting collection and insight to the rules of the game in the late Victorian period. – the lot also comes with various hand written notes, and other captions presumably the property of rugby referee at that time (4).
Rare 1900 official England rugby team photograph: v Ireland comprising sepia photograph of all 15 players together with two officials mounted on the original photographers board with calligraphic hand written details inscribed "England v Ireland-played at Richmond Feb 3rd 1900", complete with team details below and "England 1 goal, 1 dropped goal, 2 tries-Ireland 1 dropped goal" some foxing to the borders - mf&g overall 21 x 24". Note: the match was noted for several reasons, being first win by England in an international match two years and England`s first victory against Ireland since 1895, and at one time owing to snow it had been doubtful whether the game could be played, however a party of enthusiasts cleared the pitch in time for the match to go ahead.

TOTTENHAM IN DENMARK Very rare four page programme AGF v Tottenham, 25/9/55, seldom seen programme for the game played against Aarhus Gymnastikforening. Spurs won 4-3, Brooks 2 , Stokes and Robb scoring the goals, four page programme, a little worn and tears to the edges but no writing. Teams are listed on the inside pages together with adverts, a cartoon and a lucky programme number , the back page has the Danish League table and additional adverts. Fair
