AUSTRIA - ENGLAND 1952 Postcard of the Schonbrunn Palace and gardens , Vienna signed on the reverse by the complete England team and reserves who defeated Austria 3-2 in the famous "Lion of Vienna" victory 25/5/52 with the forward line led by an outstanding performance by Nat Lofthouse. Lofthouse scored two goals, Sewell scoring the other. Seventeen good , clear, ink signatures including the eleven who played in the game, Merrick, Ramsey, Eckersley, Wright, Froggatt, Dickinson, Finney, Sewell, Lofthouse, Baily and Elliott plus Garrett, Broadis, Pearson, Nicholson, Williams who also took part on the Summer tour. 1969 CUP FINAL Eve of Final Rally programme signed to the match linesman Ken Burns by the other linesman and referee George McCabe and presumably was Ken Burns' personal copy together with two colour photographs showing the three officials on the Wembley pitch before the game plus other photos including the officials being introduced to Princess Anne, the pre-match handshake between Book (Man City and Nish (Leicester), Neil Young scoring for Manchester City and Lee (Man City) and Rodrigues (Leicester) tussling for the ball. Good
MANCHESTER UNITED - EVERTON 1929-30 Manchester United double issue programme covering Manchester United first team v Everton 19/4/1930 and Reserves v Birmingham Reserves 21/4/1930. The Everton game was also a benefit, as well as a Division 1 game, for two United players Charlie Moore and Jimmy Hanson. Slight fold, pencil half-time scores. Generally good
WORLD CUP 54 Official programme Spain v Turkey, 1954 World Cup Qualifier in Madrid, 6/1/54. Spain won the game but lost in Turkey and a play-off was played in Rome. This also ended in a draw and Turkey won a toss and thus qualified for the 1954 World Cup Finals in Switzerland. The programme, "El Balon programa oficial de futbol", has twenty pages with teams listed, match official noted and various statistical and team editorial. Generally good

EVERTON - CHELSEA CUP 55-6 Everton home programme v Chelsea, 18/2/56, FA Cup (wrongly dated inside but perhaps not surprising as Everton only discovered who were to be their opponents a couple of days before the game as Chelsea and Burnley met five times before Chelsea got through. The programme has been signed by eleven Chelsea players on the Chelsea team group picture including Willemse, Blunstone, Nicholas, Lewis, Bentley, Thomson, Wicks, Sillett and manager Ted Drake. No staple. Generally good

A FINE 18TH CENTURY CONTINENTAL FLINTLOCK FOWLING PIECE, the barrel in two stages with octagonal section engraved with panels and trailing foliage, with inset brass sight at the opposing end, the walnut stock extensively carved with foliate scrolls, the cheek piece inlaid with bone and horn star, decorated with applied gilt metal furniture, engraved with various game, scrolls and shells, with sliding ball compartment in the butt. A brass barrelled flintlock naval blunderbuss by Wilkinson of Bristol, c 1810, 32½” overall, 3 stage bell mouth barrel 17”, breech struck with “London” and maker’s proofs; flat lock with stout swan neck cock, rainproof pan, and roller on frizzen spring, plate engraved with fern tip border and signed in oval; walnut fullstock with chequered wrist, vacant oval silver escutcheon, brass mounts including trigger guard engraved with a bird and with pineapple finial and butt plate tang engraved with game birds; brass tipped ramrod. Good Working Order and Condition (light wear and surface rust to lock, cock probably a contemporary replacement, top jaw and screw missing). Plate 38
An enamelled copper large sized snuff bottle, Qinglong (1735-1796) four character mark to base The circular flattened bottle, rising from a low foot ring, the splayed neck extending to a domed stopper with gilt metal scoop, the exterior sides with yellow ground and opposing cartouche depicting figures playing the ancient board game Go (weiqi) 11cm high.
