He can hardly have been used at all, he was introduced in the U.S.A. in 1921 by Schoenhut who had already become famous for their wooden circus animals and it went on to be one of their most successful toys ever.

EVERTON YOUTH-ENGLAND YOUTH 65 Very scarce programme, Everton Youth v England Youth , 7/12/65 at New Brighton. Single sheet programme, emergency issue, as the game was scheduled to be played at Goodison Park but due to Goodison being water-logged the match was transferred at very short notice to New Brighton FC and a typewritten single sheet programme on New Brighton notepaper was produced. Very scarce issue and is not noted in the Everton (David France) collection. It is believed that this issue has not been known to exist previously. Fold, some creases, no writing. Fair-generally good
