BEATLES PRESS MEMORABILIA - great collection of memorabilia relating to The Beatles and the articles and stories that would have been printed in the local newspapers The Daily Post & Liverpool Echo during the 60's. Highlights include journalist Peter Trollope's original typed reports that were sent to the printers (when Pete Best left the Beatles, when John refused his MBE and a piece of John Lennon as a schoolboy in the 50's) and original artwork and copies of original newspapers for Beatles related games that featured in the Echo in 1963 (How to do "The Cavern Stomp" and "The Beatle Game"). In addition to this there are numerous newspaper clippings, some photos used when printing stories plus a copy of the Lennon Liverpool Echo Tribute book complete with the actual photographs that were used to print the book.

A DB 10 b ore percussion sporting gun by Deane, Adams & Deane, 46” overall, rebrowned twist barrels 30”, the underside of the breeches with London proofs, serial number 799, and engraved “3½ Drms. Powder” and “1½ oz Shot”, the signed locks engraved with scrolls and game dogs in rural setting, with walnut halfstock having chequered fore end and wrist, steel mounts including trigger guard with grip safety, and original brass mounted ramrod. A fine quality double barrelled 12 bore percussion sporting gun by R Ancell of Perth, 46” overall, well rebrowned twist barrels 29”, the top rib engraved in Gothic script “R. Ancell, George Street, Perth”; breech tang engraved with scrolls and vignette of a partridge in undergrowth; signed back action locks finely engraved with beaded borders and scenes of pheasants and lapwings in a heathland setting, unusual long nosed hammers of serpentine form; dark walnut halfstock having chequered wrist (worn) and steel mounts, trigger guard and finial engraved with capercaillie and other game birds, the butt plate tang with a heron in reeds; brass mounted ramrod having concealed worm.
