An inlaid mahogany dasapada chess or draughts table probably Dutch, circa 1800, the rectangular fold over top with three boxwood and ebony strung panels, the central panel with an inlaid fruitwood and mahogany ten by ten square gaming board, opening to reveal a baize playing surface and swivelling to reveal a storage compartment, on turned tapering supports with peg feet, 30.75 x 15.25in (78 x 38.5cm). * The ten by ten square gaming board was termed a `Dasapada` in Sanskrit and is known to have been used for an enlarged game of chess called `at-tamma` in the Muslim world, with two camels added to the pieces on each side. It was also used for the game of draughts in the Netherlands and France from the 17th century onwards, until wider use as the International Draughts board in the 20th century.

US Tennis film featuring Pancho Segura (c1950) – titled "MR. TENNIS" presented by Colombia Pictures Corporation Commentator Bill Stern, Produced and Directed by Harry Foster. Stern introduces Segura to the audience and commences with instructions on how to play the game. This includes the grip, the service, the ground strokes and the volley including the double-handed forehand, while concentrating on Segura`s own individual style. An exhibition match follows – overall 8 minutes 30 secs.

Nicholas Felix- " Felix on the Bat: Being a Scientific Inquiry Into the Use of the Cricket Bat - History and Use of The Catapulta: Dissertation on The Different Styles of Bowling also The Laws Of The Game" published London Bailey Bros Cornhill 1850, 2nd ed -7 hand-coloured lithographed plates, illustrations in text after G F Watts; 58 pp in the original green cloth and gilt boards with gilt-stamped title and cricket vignette - the first cricket manual to give practical and illustrated advice by Nicholas Wanostrocht, who played under the pseudonym of Nicholas Felix. One of the greatest players of the mid nineteenth century, he also introduced several important padding and safety devices and invented the Catapulta, the first automated pitching machine, 2x publisher`s adverts – some speckle foxing, two plates with corner creases – some minor marks to the boards, otherwise very clean pages and good general appearance.
