Thomas Foster, Tiverton, a mahogany convex dial wall clock the timepiece fusee movement with shaped shoulders and an anchor escapement, the fourteen-inch round convex dial with black Roman numerals, blued steel spade hands and signed Thomas Foster, Tiverton, the mahogany case with a cast brass bezel and moulded surround, diameter 41cm. * Biography Thomas Foster is recorded as working in Fore Street, Tiverton as an auctioneer, appraiser and dealer in game, from circa 1820 until at least the 1850’s. He was also an agent for the Universal Life Assurance Company. A longcase clock made by Foster is in the Tiverton Museum.
