Sir Terry Wogan 6x4 signed Radio Two colour promo card. Sir Michael Terence Wogan 3 August 1938, 31 January 2016, better known as Terry Wogan, was an Irish radio and television broadcaster who worked for the BBC in the UK for most of his career. Before he retired in 2009, his BBC Radio 2 weekday breakfast programme Wake Up to Wogan had eight million regular listeners, making him the most listened to radio broadcaster in Europe. Wogan was a leading media personality in Britain and Ireland from the late 1960s and was often referred to as a national treasure. In addition to his weekday radio show, he was known for his work on television, including the BBC One chat show Wogan, presenting Children in Need, the game show Blankety Blank and Come Dancing. He was the BBC's commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest from 1971 to 2008 and its host in 1998. From 2010 to 2015 he presented Weekend Wogan, a two hour Sunday morning show on BBC Radio 2. In 2005, Wogan acquired British citizenship in addition to his Irish nationality and was thus entitled to use the title Sir in front of his name when he was awarded a knighthood in the same year. Ernest Borgnine born Ermes Effron Borgnino; January 24, 1917 July 8, 2012 was an American actor whose career spanned over six decades. He was noted for his gruff but calm voice, Machiavellian eyebrows, and gap toothed Cheshire Cat grin. A popular performer, he had also appeared as a guest on numerous talk shows and as a panellist on several game shows. Borgnine's film career began in 1951 and included supporting roles in China Corsair 1951, From Here to Eternity 1953, Vera Cruz 1954, Bad Day at Black Rock 1955 and The Wild Bunch 1969. He also played the unconventional lead in many films, winning the Academy Award for Best Actor for Marty 1955. He achieved continuing success in the sitcom McHale's Navy 1962 1966, in which he played the title character, and co starred as Dominic Santini in the action series Airwolf 1984 1986, in addition to a wide variety of other roles. Borgnine earned his third Primetime Emmy Award nomination at age 92 for his work on the 2009 series finale of ER. Robert Frederick Chelsea Moore OBE 12 April 1941, 24 February 1993 was an English professional footballer. He captained West Ham United for more than ten years and was captain of the England team that won the 1966 World Cup. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time and was cited by Pelé as the greatest defender that he had ever played against. Moore is a member of the World Team of the 20th Century. He won a total of 108 caps for the England team, which at the time of his international retirement in 1973 was a national record. This record was later broken by 125, cap goalkeeper Peter Shilton. Moore's total of 108 caps continued as a record for outfield players until 28 March 2009, when David Beckham gained his 109th cap. Line-ups for game on May 27th v Aberdeen in New York ( the game was postponed due to heavy rain) and v Scwaben (Germany) 30/5/56, also in New York. This was the programme for both games and is very scarce. Scwaben beat Everton 1-0 at Dowming Stadium, Randalls Island in front of 6,782, Scwaben scoring 10 minutes from the end of a bad-tempered game. Single sheet issue with editorial on both sides about both games. Slight ageing. Good

Other items in this small collection include London v Frankfurt Inter City Cup programme, 26/10/55 (good), Stirling Albion v Selkirk , Scottish Cup 8/12/84 programme (Stirling won 20-0 , a record score in the twentieth century in British Senior football) and finally a programme , Luton v Manchester City , 28/1/61, FA Cup which was abandoned due to heavy rain with City winning 6-2, all six scored by Law. City lost the game when it was played again, 3-1, Law scored the goal. Programmes are in generally good condition (small stain on Luton programme), tear across fold on Pools magazine. LUTON - MAN CITY 60-61 CUP Two programmes from the famous FA Cup tie between Luton and Manchester City, 60-61 when Denis Law scores seven goals for City yet finished on the losing side. How did this occur ? Well the first game 28/1/61 at Luton was abandoned after 68 minutes with City winning 6-2 and Law had scored all 6. . The game was replayed four days later also at Luton, 1/2/61 and Luton won 3-1 with Law scoring again for City. Both programmes are included in this Lot, 28/1/61 has folds and creasing whilst 1/2/61 issue is in generally good condition. Fair-generally good
