Newcastle United, match card for the game at Crystal Palace, dated April 15th 1905, featuring teams with colours and officials, kick off time 3.30, the reverse stating player, reserves, birthplace, height and weight. Aston Villa won 2 -0 Harry Hampton scored both goals.

India and the British Raj - Letters from William Ewing to His Dear Brother Malcolm Hart Orr-Ewing From India 1874-1878, a finely bound one-sided family correspondence, 94pp of ink manuscript letters, each linen-laid and collated in pencil by a later hand, all the letters are addressed from Calcutta, via Brindisi, where William seems to have been involved in trade & industry (iron?), and detail the life among the burgeoning British middle-class in India in the first-second decade of the Raj, including accounts of domestic native life (picked-out with vernacular nouns and their English equivalents), typical game and other shoots, anecdotes about fellow British people on the scene, as well as curiosity and concerns for the Ewings back home in Scotland, etc., collected then bound in the latter 19th/early 20th century by Ramage, London, stamped, in brown morocco gilt, slightly bevelled boards with a graduating double-fillet gilt enclosing a singular-fillet in blind, the upper cover lettered in gilt, six-compartment spine of raised bands, gilt-fillet and blind-rolled turn-in, marbled endpapers, the recto pastedown with a gilt tooled and lettered title label, 4to, [1]

Part of the 1930s "Cambridge School" of biologists, she contributed to two seminal reports on freshwater fish in eastern Africa.

A Davenport glazed drabware game pie tureen and cover with inner liner19th centurywith a pastry ware lattice and rope twist design, the rim and footrim with crimped decoration and cover with ornate foliate and raised leaf finial,impressed marks, 15cm diameter (finial and leaves restored)Condition report: Beyond the restoration to the finial, the condition appears otherwise good with no further obvious signs of damages or repairs. The finial is strong and is strong enough to use to lid off the cover.
A 19th century Flemish style carved oak bookcase cabinet, the upper section with ogee cornice above twin glazed panel doors, framed by heavily carved rails and stiles in high relief with fruits and foliage surmounted by lion heads, the base with moulded top above a deep ogee frieze having two drawers over two cupboard doors carved in relief with panels of game in the manner of Grinling Gibbons, framed by carved stiles mirroring the upper section, raised on a moulded plinth base, 140cm wide x 52cm deep x 232cm high.
