Edward Armfield (1817-1896), Four Terriers in an Interior, a pot of hot water falling from a fire, Signed, oil on canvas, 76.5cm by 127cm. It is believed that Edward Armfield was related to George (Smith) Armfield. It is possible they were brothers. Like George Smith Armfield, Edward Armfield painted animals. In particular he painted dogs usually terriers. He also painted game birds and less frequently landscapes. See illustration

CITES Appendix I Annex A (Exempt), also USESA. Otto Bock, Gunmaker and Cartridge Designer. In 1905 he designed the 9,3X62 cartridge as an all-around big game cartridge adequate for most hunting in German Colonies in Africa. He succeeded admirably and this chambering is still highly regarded.

Provenance: Laurence Cadbury Collection. Part of a collection of mounted big game trophies brought back from Alaska, North America and East Africa in 1913 and 1934 by Laurence Cadbury. Many of his specimens were mounted by Rowland Ward, and were sold by James & Lister Lea in a marquee at "The Davids", Hole Lane, Northfield, Birmingham 17th and 18th November 1988. The cheetah was lot 748 and was illustrated in the catalogue.

(59.5 x 40.5cm) (slight wear to box). The Danish Amundsen was the first explorer to reach the South Pole on 14th December 1911.

A 9CT GOLD 1981 CENTENARY F.A.CUP FINAL WINNERS MEDAL, the obverse inscribed The Football Association Challenge Cup, Winners, the rim inscribed Season 1980-81, with ring suspension. Tottenham Hotspur won the 1981 final after a replay. In the first match played on 9th May 1981, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City drew the match 1-1. In the replay played on 14th May 1981, Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester City 3-2. The 1981 F.A.Cup Final was indeed a memorable occasion befitting the hundredth final. Tommy Hutchinson, Manchester City`s forward scored twice in the first game, one for his own side and an equalising own goal for Tottenham Hotspur, the first man to score for both teams in a final since 1946. In the replay it was Ricky Villa who scored twice and his winning goal is arguable one of the best ever F.A.Cup final goals.
