FRANK SWIFT Memorial Service programme for Frank Swift who was tragically killed in the Munich Air Disaster. The first of a long-line of great City goalkeepers, Frank was working as a journalist and attended the Red Star v Man Utd European Cup game in this capacity. He was one of several journalists killed in the tragic crash at Munich which left seven United players dead and others never played again. This programme is for a service held in Blackpool where Frank grew up.Also included is a signed photo of Frank and a couple of cigarette cards of Frank.

WALSALL / ARDWICK Official matchcard for Walsall Town Swifts v Ardwick, 26/3/1892, Football Alliance game. Ardwick were to become Manchester City when the club reformed in 1894 after Ardwick hit financial problems and went into bankruptcy. In 1891 Ardwick were admitted into the Football Alliance after failing to get into the Football League, however a season later both clubs were admitted into the newly formed Second Division of the Football League. Ardwick finished in twelth position at the end of the season winning six of the twenty-two games aginst opposition including Newton Heath, Sheffield Wednesday, Small Heath, Nottingham Forest, Grimsby and Lincoln. This game ended 2-2. This official card has a fold and a minor mark but no writing and is in fair-generally good condition and is possibly the oldest known issue involving Ardwick. Fair-generally good

WALSALL / ARDWICK Official matchcard for Walsall Town Swifts v Ardwick, 17/9/1892, Division 2, This was the first season in the Football League for Ardwick and in fact this was only their fourth game as a League Club. Ardwick won 4-2 to complete their fourth successive victory as a League Club. The loss of eight out of the last ten games ensured a mid-table finish whilst Walsall Town Swifts finished bottom of the Division but continued for a couple more seasons before being replaced by Loughborough in season 1895-96. This official matchcard , almost certainly the oldest in existence for Ardwick as a League Club has a fold and a few grubby marks but condition is at least Fair and probably Fair-generally good. This item is the official match card for Walsall v Manchester City dated September 15th 1894 , Division 2 game played at West Bromwich Road. Only the fourth game played by Manchester City as a Football League club and City won the game 2-1 in front of a crowd of 4,000. City finished the season in ninth position, Walsall finished in 14th position , out of 16 clubs, but were replaced by Loughborough at the end of the season. The matchcard is in good condition with a horizontal fold but no writing. Generally good-good

Despite this , it was a 0-0 draw being abandoned in extra time. The programme has team changes ( pencil) and a small hole but no print is affected, slight folds. Fair
