Wide red border with vignettes of the laws of cricket, a village game and of batsmen illustrating a variety of strokes including Forward, Leg half volley, Home block, The Draw etc. Surmounted by a cricketer riding a flying bat (mammal). Framed 27”x33”. A few tears, wear and marks otherwise in about fair/good condition. Rare
Australia v England 1946/47. Album page signed in ink by the Australian team who played England in the 5th Test played at Sydney on the 28th February to 5th March 1947. Twelve signatures including Bradman, Toshack, Miller, Hassett, Lindwall, Morris, Sid Barnes, Dooland, Tallon etc. Odd minor faults otherwise in good condition Australia won the Test by 5 wickets, in a low scoring game, Lindwall took 7-63 in the England 1st innings
Lord Harris, George Robert Canning, Kent & England 1870-1911. Short one page handwritten letter from Lord Harris on ‘India Office’ headed paper to Mr Garnet-Man. The letter dated October 21st 1886.. ‘Very many thanks for all your enclosures. The points of the question from both sides are most clearly put’ and nicely signed by Harris. G Lord Harris was appointed Under-Secretary for India 1885 and later Under-Secretary for War. He spent five years in India as Governor of Bombay and assisted in the development of the game there
Norman Ogilvie Norton. Western Province, Border & South Africa 1902-1911. South African green cloth Test cap worn by Norton during the South Africa v England, 5th Test match, played at Cape Town on the 11th-14th March 1910. The cap, by E.C. Devereux of Eton, with embroidered raised springbok emblem and ‘S.A. 1910’ beneath. The cap has ‘N.O. Norton’ indistinctly handwritten to label. The cap slightly age toned but in excellent condition for its age. An early and rare cap from the series Norman Norton played only one Test for South Africa in the 1909/10 home Test series v England. He took 4-47 from 15 overs in the England first innings, removing Hobbs, Rhodes, Fane and Woolley, Hobbs hit wicket and the other three bowled. He took almost fifty first class wickets at an overall average of 15.75 and a best of 6-34. He was a lawyer by profession and became a provincial administrator for the game. Norton died in 1968. South Africa won the series 3-2
Brian Mervin McMillan. Transvaal, Western Province & South Africa 1984-2000. South African green cap worn by McMillan during the Cricket World Cup staged in Australia and New Zealand in 1992. The cap, by Albion C&D, with embroidered ‘South Africa. United Cricket Board’ emblem in good/very good condition. The cap has been signed by McMillan. Sold with two magazine pictures of McMillan wearing the cap during the competition. Rare South Africa were eliminated from the competition in the semi-finals by England in a controversial rain interrupted game

George Pinder’s XIII v Ephraim Lockwood’s XIII (24 Colts of Yorkshire) 1877. Rare early scorecard for the ‘Grand Cricket Match’ played at the Bramall Lane Cricket Ground on the 7th and 8th May 1877. Fully printed scores. In a low scoring match the game was drawn. For Pinder’s XIII, Captain,Pinder made 26 (thrown out by Dobson), H.Lockwood made 66 and 53, Clegg made 22, Tomlinson 23 and R. Wright 29 and Kaye took five wickets. For Ephraim Lockwood’s XIII, Beaumont made 25, Brayshaw 27, Thewlis 19, Rawlin 19no and Beaumont took seven, Thewlis nine wickets in the match. Printed on the ground by W. Silverwood, part printed details. Centre horizontal fold otherwise in good condition. Ribbon to top border George Pinder played for Yorkshire 1867-1880 and Ephraim Lockwood from 1868-1884. Both went on Daft’s tour to North America in 1879

Browning to scorecard edges, horizontal crease, old tape mark to edge and adhesive marks to verso otherwise in good condition Surrey won the match by 5 wickets, Abel made 136no, Read 75no and Lockwood took 10 wickets in the game. For Middlesex, Lucas (97) and Phillips (67) put on 149 for the 7th wicket, Webbe made 52 etc
Cambridge University v Mr C.I. Thornton’s England Eleven 1895. Official scorecard for the match played at Fenners on the 16th-18th May 1895. Fully printed detail. Some colour discolouration otherwise in very good condition The match was drawn. F.S. Jackson (122) and Vernon (109) made centuries for England, Druce made 109 for Cambridge. Gray took eight wickets for Cambridge in the game and Woodcock took six for England

M.C.C. won the 1912 match by two wickets, in a low scoring game N.C. Tufnel top scored for M.C.C. with 45no, MacLaren 35no and Biard took 9 wickets in the match. The 1927 match was drawn due to rain, Marshall of Argentine top scored with 105, Allen took 5 wickets in the Argentines only innings. Folds otherwise in good condition
‘World Record Score in First Class Cricket. New South Wales v South Australia 1901’. Fully printed scorecard for the match played at the Sydney Cricket Ground on the 5th-9th January 1901. New South Wales scored 918 all out and won the game by an innings and 605 runs, scoring the 918 runs in 9 hours and 20 minutes. ‘From The Referee, Sydney. With the Proprietors’ Compliments’. Folds otherwise in good condition. Framed and glazed. G This record was broken in 1926 when Victoria scored 1107 all out v New South Wales
England v Australia. Official scorecard for the ‘famous’ third Test match, England v Australia, Headingley 1981. Ian Botham and Bob Willis’s match. England followed on 227 runs behind and were soon 135-7 in their second innings. Botham and Dilley then put together a stand of 117. Botham finished up with 149no and Dilley 56. Australia needed 130 to win. Australia at 56-2 seemed favourites to win the game, however Willis with 8-43 won the game for England by 18 runs. Fully printed details. Very good condition
