A 19th Century Carved and Stained Wood Black Forest Cuckoo Clock, with labels for Kamerer Cuss, Tritschler & Co., the 6.25ins diameter dial with Roman numerals, to the eight day two train movement striking on a gong, contained in case of archtectural design, the front applied with a carving of two birds in a nest surrounded by leaves, 23ins high overall Externally the clock is in good overall condition however it should be noted that there are some pieces of fretwork missing to the eaves of the chalet and a further piece at the bottom of the right hand gable end. This piece is present with the clock.  There are one or two historic woodworm holes (nothing active). The cuckoo doors are present.  The mechanism appears complete, however we cannot warrant the originality of all components and the mechanism should be regarded as untested. The dial is in good condition, the Roman numerals are original, likewise the hands. The surrounding fretted game scene is complete but does bear numerous historic woodworm holes and there is a small piece missing to one acorn leaf on the top of the right hand side. The keys and pendulum are present. Overall an honest example in need of some care and attention. To the rear of the clock the cuckoo itself is present and the bellows appear to be in reasonable condition. Approximate Dimensions:Entire piece: h. 17.75", w. 12"Condition:Nice clean and bright looking page, has a repair mid article in the third of three columns, not affecting the Georgia news.
