NEWCASTLE Souvenir Record booklet published by Newcastle to celebrate their winning the 1926-27 First Division title, rather presumptuous to some extent as Newcastle published this 16 page booklet before they had actually won the title. A point was still needed from the last four games but only one was at home and Newcastle wanted to cash in by selling this booklet at the last league home game. Luckily for the Mags, a point at West Ham secured the title, and Newcastle have not won it since. Slight ageing to cover and minor annotations. Fair-generally good

EÂ…RÂ…Breach (ex. 1880-1886) Sporting dogs and dead game in a moorland landscape Signed and dated (18)85, oil on canvas, 54.5cm by 76cm As it is sealed up I cannot ascertain if it has been relined, it has been cleaned and restored and there is pedimente in the hills behind the dog on the left, traces of another dog`s head in the hillside with further areas of restoration in the background, which is now starting to discolour. Reasonably thick impasto with some engrained dirt still left in places, contained within a good quality gilt plaster and wooden frame with inner gilded slip (310113)

Claude Lorraine Ferneley (1822-1892) ``Mr Bickley and his Dogs`` Initialled, inscribed on a plaque, oil on canvas, 46.5cm by 61.5cm Glue lined, cleaned, conserved and varnished in the 1960/70s. Has been a hole or tear in the sky to the left of the foliage on the tree, almost central to the composition, with a further small tear or damage in the sky in the upper left corner. These three areas of damage have been restored, the restoration is now starting to discolour somewhat, there is paint shrinkage and crackelure and one or two further scratches or minor damages have been restored. One of these can clearly be seen above the trees on the left side. Reasonably thick impasto which has been compressed in the relining process with quire delicately applied brushwork in other areas. The dead game in the foreground have been slightly, restored in places. There is some engrained dirt to the work with discoloured varnish in places. Contained within a later gilt plaster and wooden frame with inner gilded slip, one or two large pieces of plaster are missing (260213)

An Austrian Cold Painted Bronze Model of a Red Grouse, by Bergman, early 20th century, in standing alert pose with naturalistically detailed plumage and painted detail, impressed Bergman vase and B mark and GESCH, 9.2cm high; and Three Other Game Birds, Austrian, 20th century, comprising a pair of partridge, 3.6cm high and a cock pheasant, 7cm high, 16cm long (4) Grouse - good overall, with slight wear to the colours on the head. Two partridge with some base metal showing through the paint, but structurally sound. Pheasant with stress crack towards the end of the tail, but otherwise the plumage remains good with slight flaking on the beak and all claws intact. 010213
