1920 Double Duesenberg, made by GB Models. Made of resin and painted in deep maroon. Streamlined body with steering wheel and exhaust, silver alloy disc wheels fitted with white rubber tyres. VGC-Mint. See Plate 5 Note: In the 1920s, Fred Duesenberg was at the top of his game. With the help of his brothers, he setup one of America’s great companies in 1913. They would go on to break America’s land speed record in 1920 with with a twin-engine special built for Tommy Milton. The following year, Jimmy Murphy won the French GP driving a Duesenberg which was the first ever American GP victory. This set the trend for many more stateside accolades including taking the 1924 and 1925 Indianapolis 500s.
Ipswich Hospital Football Cup 1938 Winners 9ct Gold Medal, won by George Perrett. Born London 1915, he originally played for Fulham before joining Ipswich as Half Back, Town debut 29th Aug 1936 Tunbridge Well Rangers, last game 27/12/49 and retired June 1950. He then ran the E.U.R. Pub in Croft Street till his death in 1952. He saw war service and was involved in the D Day Invasions 1944. Lot also includes original postcard photo + other photos, and Tunbridge Programme, together with a large presentation clock by Garrard, this with a silver engraved plaque `Presented to G. Perrett by the Directors of Ipswich Town Football Club in appreciation of Winning The Southern League Championship Season 1936-37`. And a 9ct Gold hallmarked Ipswich Town FC League Winners Medal named to G Perrett 1936-1937. Plus a large hand coloured picture of Perrett in London Schools colours.
