An early 20thC Chinese export silver two handled Cup and Cover, by Wing Nam & Co., Hong Kong, circular foot with knopped stem, shaped and pierced top and correspondingly pierced handles, removable cover with finial cast as a winged classical figure, scroll cartouche with depiction of a polo game on one side, the other scroll engraved with K.O.Y.L.I Cup 1930 Won by P.B.I', 8½in (21.5cm) high, approx total weight 8.6ozt.

Original receipt and a signed David Shepherd insurance valuation dated 2004 included. David Shepherd was one of Britains greatest wildlife artist who was one of the worlds most outspoken conservationists. Upon leaving school he travelled to Kenya with hope of becoming a game warden but rejected as having 'no talent'. He returned home and was rejected from slade school of Fine Art, London. However, he was taken in by artist Robin Goodwin who trained him for three years. David Shepherd became one of the most financially rewarded artists. Shepherd has brought pleasure to millions, his popular work appearing on table mats, plates and prints. His paintings are not only prized by collectors but have raised huge sums for conservation.

His paintings occasionally arise at auction and in 2008 his painting 'Flight of the Zebra' sold for a record £29,300 at Christies in London. The oil paintings in our sale were purchased direct from the artist by the vendor.

Firing cracks up front of waistcoat, left hand side of lapel, sleeve etc. Lid of tureen cracked.
ROBERT CREE CRAWFORD RSW (SCOTTISH 1842-1924) THE GAME HUNTER Oil on canvas, signed and dated 1879, 91.5 x 153cm (36 x 60") Condition Report: Generally there is blooming over the darker areas and cracking in the pigment in some darker passages where bitumen may have been mixed in with the paint. There are three tear holes in the right half section of the canvas, another small repair with patch visible verso, and a small tear hole in the left hand section evident in the lower area of the figure's jacket. There are general scuff marks to the canvas surface and damage with paint loss in areas along the top of the canvas.
