WW2 First Edition The Colditz Story by Major P R Reid Published by Hodder and Stoughton London 1952 First Edition. Patrick Robert Reid, MBE, MC was a British Army officer who was held as a prisoner of war at Colditz Castle when it was designated Oflag IV C. Reid was one of the few to escape from Colditz, crossing the border into neutral Switzerland in late 1942. He wrote about his experiences in two bestselling books, which became the basis of a 1955 film, a TV series and a board game. Also included is an original The Colditz Story Hodder & Stoughton adverting book mark quoting Agatha Christie as saying Take my advice: if you want real excitement buy The Colditz Story now!!
