Wallis (John), Wallis’s Tour through England and Wales, A New Geographical Pastime, 1794, engraved map with contemp. hand colouring, sectionalised and laid on linen, two columns of instuctions and list and brief historical description of 117 towns and cities, slight finger and dust soiling, 505 x 655mm, contained in contemp. slip case with pubs. oval label to upper board, rubbed and worn at extrems. An early board game requiring the players to move counters around the game and to ‘visit’ various towns and cities. The game is completed at London. (1).

Juego de Golf (Game of Golf), Club de Golf de la Habana, [March 1961], a group of four vintage gelatin silver prints, one showing Fidel putting watched on by a group including Che crouching, 9.5 x 13.25 ins (24 x 33.5cm), ink signatures to lower margin right, Che full length leaning on a golf club and smiling, photographer’s blind stamp to image lower left and ink signatures lower right, 13.25 x 9.5 ins (33.5 x 24cm), plus Fidel driving and putting, both with photographer’s blind stamp to lower margin left and ‘Alberto Korda’ wet stamp to verso, images sizes 10 x 9 ins (25.5 x 22cm) These images and the negative strips from the occasion are reproduced variously in all three books cited. “‘Chico, with your cameras around your neck you look like a Yankee!’ Che joked when I started to photograph him playing golf. ‘Do you realise how much we cost the Country for all the films spilling out of your pockets?’ I didn’t reply, but thought to myself: ‘What’s the problem? I paid for all the film myself!’ It was only much later that I understood, when the blockade of Cuba began” (Cuba by Korda, p. 94). (4).

MEREDITH BILLY: (1874-1958) Welsh Footballer, one of the early superstars of the game who played for Manchester City and Manchester United. Meredith won each domestic trophy in the English Football League throughout his career. Scarce blue fountain pen ink signature ('With Best Wishes, Billy Meredith') on a piece, adding 51 Internationals and the date, 19th September 1936, alongside his signature. Neatly laid down to the title page of a hardback edition of Football Wizard - The Billy Meredith Story by John Harding, published by Robson Books Ltd., London, 1998. Accompanied by the dust jacket.
