Hanging game birds restored. Figure with hare at feet is restored through his middle and left arm.

An Indian tiger skin (Panthera Tigris Tigris) circa 1935, by Van Ingen & Van Ingen of Mysore, the head with open jaw and glass eyes, the skin with original canvas backing with Van Ingen stencilling and care label, taken by Group Captain Dick Maydwell (1913-2006) under licence at Poona, 246cm nose to tail, 191cm across the fore-limbs, 170cm across the rear limbs/Note: Group Captain Dick Maydwell was in Poona in the mid 1930s where he developed his love of game shooting, the present lot was shot under licence during that time/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: Overall I would say this is in good condition for its age. The main area of concern are the tips of the ears which are worn and need to be restored. There is a little flaking to the nose. The front paws each have 5 claws, the back paws each have 4. There is some wear both to the skin and backing in line with age and usage. Viewing recommended.
