CHESTERFIELD Small album page with two famous Chesterfield FC autographs, Emmerson Marples and Herbert Munday. Munday is arguably one of the Chesterfield legends as he first played in 1893-94 for Chesterfield and scored 117 goals in 314 appearances. He played in Chesterfields first Football League game scoring when they lost 5-1 to Sheffield Wednesday, 2/9/1899. His first game for Chesterfield was in the Sheffield League v Kilnhurst 2/9/1893. Marples made his debut v Glossop , 4/1/1902 and he made 146 appearances scoring 10 goals before being transferred to Sunderland in 1907 for £350. Good

BASEBALL AT CHELSEA 1914 Ticket for Grand Baseball Match at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea, 26/2/1914, New York Giants v Chicago White Sox. The ticket is for Stand F, Row Q number 21. Also included is a replica Chelsea programme for the game. The programme states a start time of 2-30pm whilst the ticket states 3pm start but it is likely that a 3pm start would have meant it being dark before the game finished in February and that is possibly why it was changed. The game was the last game of the World Tour by the two teams and was arranged at very short notice. Good

THE CASUALS FC 1893-94 Casuals FC fixture list 1893-94. Four page fixture card booklet for the famous Casuals FC, 1893-94. The front page lists the officers of the Club plus the captain and the Oxford Secretary and the Cambridge Secretary. The middle pages show the fixtures for the season 1893-94 for all the Casuals teams as on many occasions they had more than one fixture to fulfil and indeed on October 7th they had four fixtures including one v Royal Arsenal. Many fixtures of note include games v Luton, Ipswich, Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Reading, Leicester Fosse, Derby, Sheffield United, Darwen and Swindon Town. Home games were played at Crouch End Athletic Ground, Priory Road, Hornsey according to the back page which also included instructions as to how to reach the ground. Just a few results are noted neatly in pencil , the game against Royal Arsenal being lost 5-1. Casuals were one of the two top amateur teams in the country, Corinthians being the other and the two merged together in the late 1930s to form Corinthian Casuals. The card is in generally good condition, very slight creasing and very minor spine split. Generally good

EVERTON 1889 Everton matchcard v Notts Rangers, 4/5/1889, definitely an original matchcard and not a replica, professionally repaired along folds where previously it had split, includes fixture list and scores for the season, the first ever Football League season and Everton were a founder member of the Football League. This game was an end of season friendly, Everton playing eight games in 25 days in May having played 12 games in April. Interesting to note that there was a referee and two umpires. This item was not in the David France collection. Excellently restored and now in generally good condition. As described

SCOTLAND - ENGLAND 1902 Flyer/team list probably issued by the Glasgow Weekly Record and Daily Record and Mail for Scotland v England, 5/4/1902 at Ibrox Park. Both teams are listed in team formation. The match was declared void after it finished as a stand collapsed due to heavy rainfall and 25 people died and 517 were injured. This was the first major disaster at a British football game . The stand collapsed after 51 minutes but the game was played to a finish and then declared void, a further game being played at Villa Park with all proceeds going to the disaster fund. This flyer is a scarce reminder of a tragic day and is probably the nearest thing to a programme for the game. Folds have been professionally repaired. Generally good

Two magazine pictures from the game are enclosed and are signed by three England players, Sewell, Dickinson and Elliot plus England trainer Jimmy Trotter. Festschrift edition with flags of England and Austria on the cover and many pictures inside and plentiful editorial plus line-ups etc. Generally good

FOOTBALL LEAGUE - SCOTTISH LEAGUE 1928 Aston Villa programme for Football League v Scottish League, 7/11/1928, Scottish team included 4 x Celtic players, 3 x Rangers, and one each from Hearts, Clyde , Queens Park and Dundee, the Football League side had a goalkeeper from Oldham and only Leeds and Blackburn had more than one player in the team. The Football League won 2-1 with score noted and a comment that it was "a very good game of football " on the team page. Fold, slight ageing, some creasing and teams noted on cover.. Fair

This is an original programme and has a minor fold and twenty pages, very slight marks, no writing. Generally good
