Dark blue suit, white shirt, purple striped tie. This jug has the US flag tied with yellow cord and a gold cap at the top. The jug was commissioned for the Republican National Committee. Originally planned as a limited edition of 5,000 pieces, the jug did not sell well and only 2,000 pieces were said to have been produced. An important collection of signatures and letters collected by the archaeologist and author Hodder Michael Westropp (b.1820 County Cork, Ireland, - 1884). Educated at Trinity College, Dublin. Hodder M Westropp wrote what is probably the first handbook of archaeology ever produced, added to Petrie's work on Irish Round Towers and defined the term Mesolithic*. A folio of forty-one gilt edge card leaves containing numerous pasted down signatures and letters, many of which on embossed headed paper together with visiting cards and photographic cards, bound in a gilt tooled red morocco binding with front board gilt embossed initials "H,M,W". Much of the correspondence refers to gifts of books and papers written by Westropp and date from 1860's to early 1880's. Contents include: King George IV (1762-1830), pasted down signature. Queen Victoria (1819-1901), two pasted down signature examples. Napoleon III (b. 1808, Paris - 1873), President of the Second Republic of France, a signed photographic card dated 1872. signed correspondence: Lord Lytton (1831-1891), John Gibson (1790-1866), Sir Charles Lyell (1797-1875), Charles Darwin (1809-1882), John Lubbock (1834-1913), William Edward Hartpole Lecky (1838-1903), Elizabeth Southerton Thompson (Lady Butler) (1846-1933), William Gladstone (1809-1898) et al. London.- Horwood (Richard) Plan of the Cities of London and Westminster the Borough of Southwark and Parts adjoining Shewing every House, large bound wall map of London, 22 sheets only (of 32, lacking sheets D2, E3, E4, F3, F4, G3, G4, H1, H3, and H4), presented on a scale of twenty-five inches to the mile, lacking title sheet (H1) but with imprints to lower centre of each sheet, extending from Angel to Limehouse, and Kennington to Brompton, engravings on cream wove paper with watermarks 'Horwood's Map of London', each individual sheets approx. 560 x 650 mm (22 x 25 1/2 in), on stubs, sheet A2 from another copy, minor offsetting, scattered surface dirt, otherwise occasional minor nicks to extremities, later half calf, covers detached, lacking spine, manuscript inscription to upper cover, very worn, elephant folio, [cf. Howgego 200], [c.1792-1799]; together with two impressions of Rocque's single sheet map A Plan of London on the same scale as Paris... 1766, engravings, each sheet approx. 530 x 710 mm (20 7/8 x 28 in), central folds, toning and surface dirt, unframed, 1766 (3) ⁂ The largest map printed in Georgian Britain, and a defining study of London at the end of the eighteenth century. Horwood's plan was the first map of London to attempt to show every individual property, and took over 7 years to complete following numerous logistical and financial obstacles.
West Indies.- Oliver (Vere Langford) The History of the Island of Antigua, 3 vol., one of 150 copies signed by publisher, pats and maps, many folding or double-page, illustrations, spotting at beginning and end, bookplate, original cloth, mottling to boards, slight bumping to corners and extremities, folio, 1894.
Persia.- H[erbert] (Sir T[homas]) A Relation of Some Yeares Travaile, Begunne Anno 1626, first edition, additional engraved title, engraved illustrations, engraved initials, head- and tail-pieces, one or two marginal ink notes, bookplate to front pastedown and title verso, occasional marginal damp-staining towards end, lacking 2H4 (blank), later half-calf, a little rubbed, slight bumping to corners and extremities, [Sabin 31471], folio, by William Stansby, and Jacob Bloome, 1634.
Middle East.- Saudi Arabia.- Saudi Arabia, 4 plates, 1 map, illustrations, original printed stiff paper wrappers, plastic ring binding, light spotting and staining to covers, a little rubbed, [Riyadh], [Lockheed Corporation], 1973 § Trans-Arabian Pipe Line, illustrations, California, 1957-8; and 3 other scarce Aramco pamphlets on the Saudi Arabian oil industry, folio (5).⁂ The first is a rare survivor. Originally printed as a guide for potential employees of the Lockheed Corporation, describing life in Jeddah. The report talks about food, transport, local customs, education, climate, history etc.

NO RESERVE South America.- Ecuador.- Roosevelt (André) Haven, one of 400 copies, this one of 300 with text in English, title printed in red and black, 44 tipped-in photographs by the author, pages damp-stained, some spotting and toning, full suede binding with cloth tie, lettered in green, Quito, Ecuador, Imprenta Gutenberg, folio, 1940.⁂Photographs by entrepreneur and filmmaker Cornelius Louis André Roosevelt, distantly related to Theodore Roosevelt, depicting the Ecuadorian landscape, sites, and people. The first state of this edition, this copy contains the prints on pages 19 and 21, the negatives of which were destroyed during printing, and were replaced in later states by prints on what became pages 97 and 99.

Gilt lettering missing on spine and three interior pages missing. Peripheral pages creased and ingrained with dirt and foxing. Title page creased and ripped. Foxing and yellowing lessens towards centre of book. Maps generally good although many cut out. American maps lacking.

This edition was considered by Doctor Johnson to be one of the greatest productions in English poetry.
