Die Figuren, Tiere und der reichhaltige Buchschmuck wurden auf der Höhe der Zeit mit höchster Präzision in einer Pariser Werkstatt entworfen und gestaltet und sind hier eindrucksvoll wiedergegeben worden. Andererseits gilt das Traktat aber auch als eine unschätzbare Quelle zur Kulturgeschichte der Jagd im späten Mittelalter.
