Käthe Strenitz, British/Czech 1923-2017- Two card folios of figure studies, 1987-88; graphite on paper, one folio with 17 sheets, the other folio with 8 sheets, each sheet signed 'Kathe Strenitz', some dated, each 42 x 29.7 cm (25) (ARR) (unframed) Provenance: The Estate of the Artist; thence by descent. Note: Born in Czechoslovakia, Strenitz moved to England in 1939. She was awarded a British Council Scholarship to the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art on the recommendation of Oskar Kokoschka. Over the course of her career, she showed at several galleries, notably Boundary Gallery, Bankside Gallery, and Ben Uri. Her work is in the collection of the London Metropolitan Archives, the National Museum of Wales, and the Museum of London.All unframed. Folds and creases to the sheets consistent with handling. Some tears/losses to the sheets, particularly towards the corners. Spots of foxing, discolouration, marks, and surface dirt generally. Otherwise in fair condition overall.

Original vintage World War Two propaganda poster featuring artwork by the British illustrator and graphic designer Eric Frasier (1902-1983). A montage depicts different materials - fabrics, steel, concrete, coal and wood - with images of factories, a hand emerging from a cave, steel pipes, vegetables growing from the ground, wooden shapes, trees and clothing, the text invites to save by the National Savings Committee - For Progress in the Future Save Now. Frasier was known for his contributions to the Radio Times, which included several cover designs, as well as for his illustrations for the Everyman’s Library book series, and J.R.R Tolkien’s Folio Society edition of The Lord of the Rings. Printed for H.M Stationery Office by Fosh and Cross Ltd London. Acceptable condition, tape on top edge, minor staining, minor creasing, backed on thick card. Country of issue: UK, designer: Eric Frasier, size (cm): 74x50, year of printing: 1940s.
