1839 (July 7) Autograph letter from a British traveller in Ireland to William Aldam Esq. 4pp. & address panel, folio, postmark Killarney July 8, in a strong legible hand describing travels from Dublin through Carlow, Clonmel, Fermoy, North Waterford, Millstreet, Cork and Killarney. Describes Bianconi's cars and coaching business, remarks on number of military buildings, competition in building between Catholics and Protestants in Carlow, progress of building of Mount Mellory, effectiveness of the 'Military Police', etc. "I don't think O Connell far from wrong in calling them the 'finest peasantry' in the world..." William Aldam (1813-90), was Liberal Party politician and MP for the Yorkshire constituency of Leeds between 1841 and 1847.

Giovanni Paisiello, Rappresentata nel Teatro di Corte a Vienna ... etc. Copyist Wenzel Sukowaty, the principal copyist for The Vienna Court Theatre, 1778-1796. Oblong folio, browning / damp stng. throughout. Very successful in its time, this opera preceded Rossini's now more famous version of 1816. N.d. but c.1790's.
