Rupert Senior and Charles Wheeler-Carmichael, a macassar ebony, steel and glass extending dining table, in two parts, with glass tops and angular bases with polished steel brackets and platform bases, the smaller base with maker’s boss Senior Carmichael, Betchworth, England, no. G98152AA, the top 173cm x 105cm. Rupert Senior and Charles Wheeler-Carmichael both trained at Parnham College in Dorset in the early 1980s and have been designing and making highly individual pieces of furniture to commission for the last twenty years, recently including a folio desk for the Marquess of Bath. They have been awarded a total of thirteen Guild Marks from the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers.
