The medals somewhat ‘dusty’, but otherwise extremely fine, the case in good order, the whole extremely rare as a complete set. (lot) M. Jean-Jacques-Régis de Cambacérès, Duke of Parma (1753-1824), lawyer and statesman, and the author of the Code Napoleon (which today still forms the basis of French law). Cambacérès was homosexual, and is widely, but not altogether accurately, given credit for decriminalising homosexuality in France.
