Debut D'Une Lutte Prolongée [Posters from the Revolution], 96 whole page colour and plain illustrations, printed on both sides of the sheet, original wrappers, lightly soiled, folio, 1968.⁂ Beginning in May 1968, several weeks of civil unrest occurred throughout France, punctuated by demonstrations, general strikes, and the occupation of universities and factories. Known as 'May 68', events ground the economy of France to a halt and political leaders feared civil war or revolution, with then President Charles de Gaulle even secretly fleeing to Germany at one point. Sometimes linked to similar movements that occurred around the same time worldwide, the protests inspired a generation of protest art in the form of songs, imaginative graffiti, posters, and slogans.

Inspired by the contemporary vogue for all things Indian - by the temples, palaces and gardens of the Hindustan - Repton produced a suite of detailed and beautiful designs. Despite the Prince's initial enthusiasm, however, neither Repton's architectural nor garden designs came to fruition, with John Nash (1752 - 1823) instead receiving the official commission. Recouping financial losses from the project, this publication was conceived, and this edition was reissued in 1822 to coincide with Nash's completion of the Royal Pavilion.

The Confessio Amantis was completed in 1390 and written at the command of King Richard II by John Gower (1325-1408). Gower wrote three major works: the Confessio Amantis in English, the Vox Clamantis in Latin and the Speculum Meditantis in French. All three books are shown on Gower's elaborate, decorated tomb in Southwark Cathedral. The Confessio Amantis was revised to include a dedication to Henry IV and other changes between 1390 and c.1393. Gower's literary reputation was only matched by that of Chaucer, with whom he is frequently linked by later writers.
