A Victorian dressing mirror, pair of book ends, two mahogany table lamps, oval shaving mirror, collection of various card games including Bridge, Happy Families, etc, volumes 1-5 PROFESSOR GERALD LEIGHTON and LOWDEN M DOUGLAS "The Meat Industry and Meat Inspection", published The Educational Book Company Limited, London circa 1910, one volume KENNETT J BEECHAM "History of Cirencester The Roman Corinium" and a folio of various ephemera relating to "Olde Cicester" CONDITION REPORTS Lamps and mirrors only - Oval toilet mirror has a crack and repair to the top of the frame. Has been crudely glued on to base. Possibly only associated rather than originally together. There is a crack to the back at the top of the coloumn near the screw head. Rectangular mirror has some losses to the veneer as well as various cracks, knocks, bumps, etc. Both lamps need re-wiring and they have various knocks, bumps and chips conducive with age and use - one has some repaired damage to the top - see photos for more details.
Warren (Thomas, Editor) A Collection of Catches Canons and Glees for Three, four, five, six and nine Voices never before published Selected by Thomas Warren [c.1765-1795], London, Longman and Broderip; Peter Welcker; J. Blundell; J. Dale; 32 parts (separately paginated) in seven oblong folio vols (each 235 x 315mm), later purple morocco with gilt-lettered banded spines. Musical scores with lyrics on laid paper engraved by Phillips and Caulfield and others, the composer of each song indicated above, and the original part titles and indeces preserved (except no index part 6), so too publishers' price lists/adverts. Warren was Secretary of the Catch Club (founded 1761), to whose members most of the parts are dedicated; members took the chair in turns at the dinners which were held weekly at the Thatched House Tavern, St. James's, London, between February and June. Rarely does the complete series appear on the market. Photographs Erskine (Sir James Elphinstone), An album containing 140 albumen prints, 96 of which give an interesting portrayal of a tour of Brazil [c1878-1880]. The visit commences in Paranagua, Castro and Guarapuava in the state of Parana, ends in Sao Paulo, and records agricultural scenes, rail lines and ferrys, processions, topographical scenery and travel by packhorse and wagon. The remaining 44 images are predominantly of Wales, Dartmouth and Ludlow, various sizes, the Brazilian images circa 150 mm x 200mm and 140mm x 190mm, mounted in folio album, recent half calf to original boards [name and dates taken from spine label]
