Folio, full red polished morocco, titlepage in red and black, vignette on titlepage, engraved plates, woodcut initials, elaborate gilt border of flowers and ribbons, the corners with cartouche, floral, and other tools, central panel within a border of rules and leaves, comprising suspended floral decoration, swags, and urns, spine decorated gilt in compartments of urns and floral tools, green morocco lettering piece, white metal clasps, a.e.g., corners and edges rubbed, a few scuff marks and dark stain to part of the upper board Note: A handome product of what until 1802 had been the monastic press of the Monastery at Kempten and which, after the suppression of the monasteries in 1802, was taken over by the Bavarian government. It became in turn Kosel verlag. Like the printing, the somewhat anachronistic binding is for the parish church of Nuziders in Austria and is signed S. Birgler and dated 1807.

The work is of interest not only for the insight it provides into the world of mediaeval astrology, but also for astronomical, cosmographical and meteorological as well as medical information it contains. Having survived the Plague - which he predicted - he provides one of the earliest surviving accounts of the epidemic and remedies against it. The woodcut diagrams include a woodcut map of the world and a full page diagram of the world in which the globe is divided into sections each of which is particularly subject to the influence of a certain planet. The numerous woodcut initials are partly printed from blocks first used by Ratdolt.
