Various Suid-Afrikaanse Panorama (South African government illustrated monthly) 1957-1984 (unbound and incomplete) Several large folio and smaller formats (as shown in the composite image) Fourteen complete but unbound volumes of the Afrikaans edition during the period 1957-1984 + 27 numbers from the other years. Over its long period of publication (from 1956 to at least 1988) - originally in separate English and Afrikaans editions, and later in other European languages as well - this monthly achieved a wide circulation. This may have been because its successive civil service editors avoided typical `Department of Information` propaganda and instead concentrated on the country`s people, places and industrial and artistic achievements.
