Scobell, Cleric, Parliamenti and printed in London by Edward Husband and John Field, Printers to The Parliament of England, 1650, the title printed within a double-lined border; 6 pp, folio; ; This Act of Parliament was issued at the height of the Third English Civil War between Scottish Royalists and supporters of Charles II. Cromwell had just arrived in Edinburgh at the end of July in 1650 in support of the English Republic. On the third of September, the Scots were dealt a crushing blow by the New Model Army at the Battle of Dunbar.
