Aizome Collection so lettered, being a collection of 112 fine large actual examples of Aizome, the traditional Japanese method of indigo dyeing, most of the attractively-patterned fabric examples measuring approx. 52 x 34 cm., each mounted on a backing fabric to give some rigidity, and displayed in the plastic wallets of three loose-leaf "Neat Holder" folio binders, without any text or captions, probably later XXth century, together with A Japanese printed volume on the same subject, also illustrated with some actual examples, folio. Aizome is the traditional Japanese indigo dyeing method, and utilises indigo fermented from the leaves of the Polygonum Tinctorium. (4)
