Illustrations by Edward Burne-Jones, border decorations by William Morris. Printed for The Folio Society, London, by Cambridge University Press and completed on the 20th day of February, 2002. The paper, Oxenford twin-wire laid, has been specially made at the James Cropper Mill at Burneside in Cumbria and supplied by John Purcell Paper. The binding design has been redrawn by David Eccles from a copy of the Kelmscott Chaucer bound by T. J. Cobden-Sanderson at the Doves Bindery in 1900. The binding of this edition has been executed by Smith Settle at Otley, Yorkshire. Contained in blue buckram solander box bearing gilt morocco spine label, including the accompanying essay.

'A Series of Antient Allegorical, Historical, and Legendary Paintings, in Fresco, Discovered, in the Summer of 1804, on the Walls of The Chapel of the Trinity, Belonging to the Gild of the Holy Cross, at Stratford-upon-Avon, in Warwickshire, from Drawings made, at the Time of their Discovery, by Thomas Fisher, F.S.A.'. Three separate folio editions in quarter leather bindings, each bearing a title page for Nichols and Son, London, 1836, and each containing numerous copper-engraved and lithographic plates, most featuring exceptionally vibrant original hand-colouring. The largest edition bears a contemporary handwritten note pasted to front free endpaper, signed by Nichols (presumably the publisher), describing the book as a 'large paper copy', which is 'very rare' with 'additional plates'; 'The Seals in this Edition are coloured' (this is the case with one of the other edtions here); this edition also includes original wrappers bound in at rear (Messrs. G. and W. Nicol, Pall Mall, 1807), including notes to subscribers. Irregular enumeration of plates, as per index. A notable work in the history of illustrated books and printmaking (Fisher was one of the first to welcome lithography in the UK); the book was designed to illustrate the medieval paintings that Fisher discovered in the Guild Chapel, Stratford-upon-Avon.
