A JADE DOUBLE DISK, BI, WARRING STATES TO WESTERN HAN DYNASTYJade. China, Warring States period to Western Han dynasty, 5th century BC to 1st century ADOf circular form, the disk neatly carved to both sides with raised comma-spirals, the pierced narrow inner ring neatly incised with scrolls and held in place by four rectangular struts. The translucent stone of a pale celadon tone with white clouds and black specks as well as a semi-translucent patch and further smaller areas of beige-brown color. Few small chips, some smoothened, and natural fissures. During the Warring States period and Han dynasty, a great variety of carved embellishment and decoration on jade bi disks emerged. In addition to lavish grounds of raised bosses and spirals, openwork and pierced techniques skillfully executed with metal tools were particularly favored. The present lot's double rings joined by four small segments is noteworthy as an example of the carver's ingenuity.Museum comparison: Compare a related concentric pierced jade huan disc, Warring States period, illustrated in Compendium of Collections in the Palace Museum: Jade 3, Beijing, 2011, p. 128, no. 124. A mid-19th century Anglo-Indian fold-over pedestal card table in the manner of the Ahmerbad Carving Company, with a serpentine outline carved with fruiting vines, the column and base intricately pierced and carved supported by four scroll feet with corresponding decoration. 91 cm wide x 46 cm deep 79 cm overall height.A private estateGenerally the table is in good order, a few points to mention:the table has an old patch on the top, and looks to have been re polished at some point a long time ago the base has a crack that is seen in the further images, it is more noticeable from the underside rather than in its native aspect. INDEPENDENCE DAY (1996) - Production-Made 24-Inch Alien Attacker Model Miniature - A production-made, 24-inch alien Attacker model miniature from Roland Emmerich's sci-fi action film Independence Day. Captain Steven Hiller (Will Smith) took one attacker down and captured the pilot during the first battle.Gifted from the film's lead model maker to a VFX Supervisor, this Attacker model miniature is made of hollow fiberglass and features an intricate, multifaceted pattern all over its chassis and was hand-painted predominantly in varying shades of metallic green, with bronze-color paint down the ship's panel lines. A small metal mounting point is on the underside and now sits on a custom-made display. Also included is an invitation to the world premiere and a Black Knights VMFA 314 patch. Ray wore his spacesuit while he explored the moon and while he was in space.This costume consists of a soft padded helmet made of white canvas cloth with a clear acrylic visor, two non-functional resin lights, and a foam neck ring; a plastic and foam collar with metal hardware; a padded white canvas cowl neck long-sleeve torso top with a patch on each arm; padded white canvas bottom trousers; white canvas gloves with a beige leather palm and gray rubber fingertips; and shoes with white canvas boot covers, as well as a spacesuit backpack with resin components and a "NASA" patch. The costume interior and boots feature tags from Center Theatre Group with "Moontrap Bruce Campbell" hand-marked in black ink. PROMETHEUS (2012) - Light-Up Spacesuit with Fifield's (Sean Harris) Photo-Matched Chestpack - A light-up spacesuit with Fifield's (Sean Harris photo-matched chestpack from Ridley Scott's sci-fi prequel Prometheus. Uncomfortable with the team's discovery, Millburn (Rafe Spall) and Fifield (Sean Harris) attempted to return to Prometheus on their own, but wound up lost inside the structure and were attacked by a snake-like creature. The helmet and chest armor of this spacesuit photo-match specifically to Sean Fifield's while he was in the structure. Designed by Janty Yates, this costume consists of a clear globe-shaped acrylic helmet with five video screens, LED lights, two interior fans, an external light with a camera; a rubber skull cap with a "Millburn" patch attached to the front; a cowl neck for the helmet to attach to with four video screens on the interior; a combination resin chest armor and backpack; a gray-blue stretch canvas jumpsuit over a layer of neoprene with rubber foam armor attached by metal rivets; a black nylon belt with metal hardware; leather and neoprene stunt gloves with elastic joints on the resin armor; and resin-armored boots. The suit's helmet and neck rig incorporate video screens with custom animations created for the costume. The chest pack also features a light-up front panel and a backpack that houses the battery pack as well as the flipswitch that activates the lights and video screens. Of the nine total video screens, one does not work in the helmet, and three of the four in the cowl neck have corrupted data and while they turn on, do not play the video. Production lightly distressed this spacesuit to appear used, and the bodysuit exhibits white residue from the attack-scene. BATMAN RETURNS (1992) - Batman's (Michael Keaton) Batsuit on Display - Batman's (Michael Keaton) Batsuit from Tim Burton's superhero sequel Batman Returns on a display. Batman wore his iconic Batsuit throughout the film as he battled with the Penguin (Danny DeVito) and Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer).While the suit for Burton's original Batman film featured muscular body armor, the second iteration of the Batsuit sculpted by Steve Wang and Jose Fernandez from design illustrations by Bob Ringwood featured a more industrial armored form. This costume consists of an original black foam latex cowl; an original black latex cape with fabric lining; an original foam rubber bodysuit with attached shoulder and upper arm armor; and a set of hip armor. The yellow and black cast resin bat chest emblem, the leather gloves (size XL), resin belt, lower leg foam armor, boots, and foam boot covers are all replicas added to complete the display. The cape is a particularly nice example, with the latex still soft and supple. This Batsuit comes mounted to a custom body form with a Michael Keaton lifecast for display. The glazed drawers would presumably have had items within to hand around and could have been replaced in the incorrectly numbered etageres.There are scratches, marks, knocks, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use.There are losses, observations and restorations including: some cracks to the wood and veneers and small patch; some splits to the top of the tiers some with filler; some discolouration to some parts of the brass galleries; the pale pink paper linings of the drawers have some aged foxing and pin holes from previous contents; the beaded brass bands with some lifting and a crack to the brass gallery; a split to the oak underside of one undertier; the undersides of both undertiers with screw holes suggesting that something possibly was previously fixed here.Please see the additional photographs as a visual reference of condition. A silk embroidered wedding dress, early 19th century, embroidered with foliate designs with a ruched necklineneckline to hem - 126cm, sleeve to sleeve - 124cm Originally conceived in 1825, the present lot was first used by Anna Eliza Davies (circa 1795 - circa 1881) during her wedding ceremony to Thomas Lewis-Lloyd of Nantgwyllt (1799-1870). Retained within the family, the dress was later gifted to Davies’ granddaughter, Louisa Lewis-Lloyd of Nantgwyllt, Radnorshire and Bloomfield, Narberth, Pembrokeshire (1867-1952). In the 1950s, the dress was bequeathed to Lewis-Lloyd’s great neice who later adapted the dress. In a manuscript note, the alterations are described thusly: “I converted the train into an evening dress to wear at the Spanish Embassy in Dublin, while staying with Lady Dunsany, co Meath. I was careful not to cut the train and the velvet band, zips and darts can all be carefully undone and the train replaced.
