§ Peter Kuhfeld, RP, NEAC (British, b.1952) Fenton House, Blue Room oil on canvas 61 x 54cm (24 x 21in) Other Notes: Kuhfeld studied at the Leicester School of Art from 1972-1976 and afterwards taught at the Rugby School of Art. He secured a place at the Royal Academy School of Art where he studied under Peter Greenham, CBE, RA for three years and won several scholarships and prizes, including the Royal Academy of Art Silver Medal for Drawing in 1979 and the David Murray Landscape Prize, 1978-79. In 1985, he held his first major exhibition at the New Grafton Gallery with Christa Ga. This exhibition established him as one of the key members of the New English Art Movement and consequently, he was elected as a member of the New English Art Club. In 1992, he became a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. He continues to paint and exhibits around the world accepting many important commissions. In 2009, he painted Harry Patch, the last surviving World War I soldier and the oldest man alive in Europe. In 2012, Peter Kuhfled was asked by HRH The Prince of Wales to paint the royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Prince of Wales had been a patron of Kuhfled and in 1991, they went on a trip to Africa and Japan together which resulted in an important exhibition of Kuhfeld’s work at Agnews, London. Oil on canvas, the canvas tension is slightly slack with slight undulations around the edges. There is a convex deformation at the upper right corner caused by impact to the reverse. The paint layer is in a good condition. There are a few minor losses to the gilding on the frame.

ASCRIBED TO HENRY STONE A portrait of a cleric, said to be Bishop Mews, standing half-length in an interior, his right hand resting on a helm, oil on canvas, 47.5" x 39.25" This portrait depicts the Bishop with a black patch on his left cheek, which was reputedly the result of a wound inflicted at the Battle of Sedgemoor.

WW2 M43 German ‘Mountain’ Police officer’s uniform field cap. Blue grey wool body peak and fold down flaps, retaining single silver washed pebbled button, aluminium twist wire piped crown. Pentagonal shaped patch, with bullion embroidered police eagle/wreath and cockade to top centre. Edelweiss 2 piece badge, on dark green backing sewn to left side. Economy silk interior, maker stamped Arb.-Ausschuß Sonneberg. Very worn service lining, but good overall. Approx. size 56. Rarely seen police Gebirgsjäger attributed piece.
C.1830 British Police constabulary etched short sword and scabbard. Brass ‘P’ shaped guard and ribbed topped pommel, very good fish skin grip. Leather washer fits well into the slightly curved 57cm long, thick cutlass blade, that shows minor age dark spots edge and has sharpening rasp marks. Acid etched ‘Wm PARKER Maker to His Majesty. HOLBORN LONDON’. Black leather scabbard has lost lower brass mount and has large leather patch to middle of both sides. Overall measures 72cm.

Large cotton flag, with large ‘cog wheel’ with swastika to both sides, with woollen brown cloth Gau/unit patch Rheydt-Süd 11 to top corner of each side. Light wear overall, good quality piece, retaining sewn in metal suspension rings. Measures 115cm x 140cm. Would make an impressive wall display piece.

A Bow soft paste porcelain frill vase, circa 1760, of flared cylindrical form with incised body, pierced lattice upper body interspersed with applied blue flowers, two female masks each surrounded by a wreath of flowers applied on opposite sides, two moulded flower sprays to opposite sides, the lower body with frill-like row of leaves from which rise stems bearing flowers in full relief, on a gently spreading foot with small moulded blue painted flowers, unmarked except for patch marks, paper label for 'Bow', 13 by 17.5cm high.Provenance: Private Deceased Estate, purchased Collins & Clark, 81 Regent Street, London, 17-8-1976 for £115.Some typical damage and losses, but generally good.
A 9ct nautical brooch with enamelled flag detail, signed Benzie of Cowes (Isle of Wight) diameter 2.5cm, weight 5.1gms, together with a silver enamelled tie pin Condition Report: Round brooch, losses to the white enamelled border, flag has a slither chip to the top edge, and a chip to the point closest the top, mount & clasp all ok. Flag pin; a tiny patch less than one mm of dullness might just be unfired, not visible with the naked eye, otherwise good.

Batman (1989) A rare Crew jacket from the Tim Burton classic. Only a few of the jackets were made for the heads of department and they were specially made at the request of Jack Nicholson to look like the jackets the Goons wear in the movie. This black leather jacket has a Joker patch on one arm and a Bat logo patch on the back. It has a detachable faux fur collar.
