An early 18th century walnut hanging corner cupboard, the mirrored door with arched and moulded surround opening to shelves and flanked by canted angles. Height 104 cm, width 66 cm, depth 37 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The corner cupboard is generally in very good order. It shows signs of age-related wear to include cracking to the veneer etc. There is a small patch of veneer which has been replaced to the cornice on the top right-hand side. There is also another patch on the main body on the right-hand side below the central hinge. There are a number of dents, marks, etc but nothing majorly untoward. Internally the rear of the door has been lined with plywood. To the rear the seam which sits in the corner has been lined with tin which is now quite rusty. Also, one of the boards is missing a small section of timber which is approximately 15 cm in length and 1 cm in width.
A late 19th/early 20th century mahogany pillar, of cylindrical form with square stepped base. Height 110 cm, top diameter 29.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: On the top of the column the bolt is visible but could easily be covered with a piece of marble. There is some discolouration towards the top end and the main body veneer is cracking, bubbling, etc. There is a square patch which has been replaced at the top which is +/- 10 x 5cm. There is also a crack running ¾ of the way down at the rear. There is another crack running from top to bottom although this is possibly the seam of the veneer. There are further cracks all the way around. At the base of the column there is also another patch of veneer which has been replaced. The square sections of timber at the very bottom are later replacements.
A Regency rosewood marble topped open bookcase, with adjustable shelves with scroll and carved supports and with plinth base. Height 93 cm, width 173 cm, depth 33 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The bookcase is structurally sound. The marble top has various repairs to chips around the edges and has also had some sections filled to the top, this is relatively in keeping with the colour of the marble. To the right-hand side there is a small section of veneer lost to the bottom rear, +/- 7 cm x 4 cm. On the left-hand side there is a small patch of veneer flaking away from the bottom at the rear and also some slight traces of mould. At the front on the base on the left-hand side there is a long strip of veneer nearly covering half of the bookcase which has been replaced. The shelves show quite a lot of wear and tear but again nothing untoward. The depth of the top two shelves 26.5 cm, the base 28 cm.
A Poole pottery owl lamp, and Paddington Bear lamp base. CONDITION REPORT: The owl lamp is generally in very good order. There is a patch of discolouration around both eyes but particularly to the left-hand eye. This is where they have been glued into position. Some of it will scratch of with a fingernail but it will need a slightly more abrasive material to remove it completely. The Paddington lamp is in very good order. We can see no signs of any chips, cracks, or restoration.
Walter Graham Grieve (1872-1937) Scottish RSA RSW, oil on canvas, still life. 60 cm x 49 cm, framed, signed top right-hand corner, various labels verso (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The picture is generally in very good order. In our opinion ready to hang. Looking at the rear of the canvas there is a patch on the bottom right-hand side which when looked at from the front under UV light is visible but is not noticeable with the naked eye. The frame is generally in very good order showing some very light cracking, the odd loss here there and everywhere but nothing that is particularly noticeable.

The history of Aston Martin’s V8 saloon is well documented but what is less known perhaps is the final series, or Oscar India (October Introduction), especially when specified with the extremely rare (and in this instance original) dogleg ZF manual gearbox which sets itself in a league of its own with, according to the AMHT, 26 being built and only 15 of which were right hand drive. It should thus be noted that this is a genuine factory manual example and not mistaken for a later conversion.Still on the original 1983 registration and with matching numbers as confirmed by the enclosed Heritage Certificate, the factory options at the time were a manual gearbox, two rear fog lamps, Cibie headlights in the front grille and, interestingly, a rear silencer delete. Also enclosed is a large history file going back to delivery in the early eighties including the original stamped service book, owner’s manual, warranty card, old MoT’s and numerous invoices. The registration document shows only three owners and is probably the lowest produced configuration of the Oscar India with only twelve right hand drive examples complete with a manual gearbox ever made.Originally purchased through Victor Wilson Ltd. in Edinburgh by Robertson Baxter Ltd, (Distillers) in the original and present colour scheme of Raven Black with a contrasting burgundy leather interior. There then follows a comprehensive service history as well as a number of period upgrades including a complete engine rebuild to 5.7 Vantage capacity and X-Pack specification with new liners, pistons, valves, high-profile cams and larger carburettors and inlet manifold. Additionally, the correct ZF five-speed gearbox has been rebuilt with a short-shift added and new clutch. A full-flow, oil-cooler with thermostat has also been fitted as well as a Harvey Bailey handling kit offering a much-improved handling and roadholding driving experience with lower & stiffer suspension, rebuilt dampers, stiffer front anti-roll bars as well as the additional of a rear anti-roll bar. Also included is the original black leather owner’s manual (with pencilled notes), the original Aston Martin warranty and service voucher booklet as well as receipts for all work in current ownership which includes numerous works such as a gearbox rebuild by noted specialist Rikki Cann, an upgraded Powerlite high-torque starter motor, restored leather interior, re-lacquer of all interior woodwork and fresh carpets and door cards and finally, the engine rebuilt to Vantage X-Pack specification by Aston Martin specialists Oselli to the tune of £45,000 bringing works in recent years to over £67,600 since it was purchased by the current owner. This really does represent one of the most special and thoroughbred Aston Martins currently on offer.
