SHELLEY; a comprehensive suite of Art Deco orange and grey banded teaware; 12132 pattern, comprising teapot, coffee pot, large jug, small jug, small bowl, two bread and butter plates, six tea cups, nine side plate, nine saucers, three coffee cups, three coffee saucers, one small side plate and six bowls. CONDITION REPORT: Surface dirt generally. Bowls: most have very small firing bubbles. Sandwich plates: small abrasions to pattern. Milk jug: very small firing bubbles. Teapot: very small firing bubbles, tiny scratches to white body. Cream jug: discolouring to orange under handle. Plates: generally small firing bubbles and tiny abrasions commensurate with use and age. Marks under rims, probably made by maker. Very small patch of staining under rim. Tea saucers: generally small firing bubbles, small abrasions commensurate with age and use, small marks probably within making process. One has hairline crack from edge to foot. Tea cups: small firing bubbles, rough edge to one cup rim and abrasion to outside orange banding. Another has a hairline crack from rim, approx. 2cm. Another has a slight abrasion inside. Coffee saucers: small firing bubbles and tiny abrasions, marks under, probably makers marks. Small dish (possibly for under jug): firing bubbles, marks under, probably makers marks. Coffee cups: very tiny firing bubbles, very small mark to bottom of outside of one. Bowl: series of 3 hairline loops just above foot.
A good quality mid 19th century mahogany stick stand, the shaped end supports united by an upper platform set with eight ring turned apertures above rectangular drip tray with canted corners raised on paw feet, length approx 72cm. CONDITION REPORT: small section missing to claws of one foot. Where the platform meets the uprights there are 4 splits, and also a patch repair to this area. Colour good and overall good.

Pointed cuffs edged with a double row of lace, and Russia braid decoration for a Major. Twisted silver shoulder-cords bearing Victorian crown in gold embroidery. White metal buttons bearing the Sphinx within a crowned Garter. Beige cotton lining ... Scarlet serge “frock” tunic, with white facings to the collar, cuffs and shoulder-straps, the latter each bearing Victoria Major’s crown in white metal. Five silvered buttons, of Regimental pattern, but smaller, to the front. Patch breast pockets fastened with small buttons. Sphinx collar-badges in silver embroidery. A slot at the waist to allow a sword-hook to be worn from a webbing brace ... Braided blue patrol jacket of infantry pattern, edged all round with one-inch black mohair braid. Four loops of black gimp each side, forming eyes and double drops, fastened with woven olivettes. Shoulder-straps edged with narrow braid and bearing QVC in silver embroidery. Backseam ornaments of gimp forming trefoils at top and bottom, and two figures-of-eight. Plain pockets and black quilted lining ... Fine pair of pantaloons for a mounted officer, with scarlet welt to side-seams. Ovearll GC minor age wear. ... The uniform is contained in a metal uniform case with brass plaque engraved “R.Bradley, Esq., 23rd Lancashire Rifle Vols.” (5 items)

Scarlet serge Officer’s “frock” tunic, with white facings to the collar, cuffs and shoulder-straps, the latter with two bimetal Garter rank stars. Five silvered buttons, of regimental pattern, in front. Patch breast pockets fastened with small buttons. Sphinx collar-badges in silver embroidery. A slot at the waist to allow a sword-hook to be worn. One button absent, some dulling to the scarlet... Scarlet shell jacket with white facings to collar and cuffs. Edged all round with narrow silver Russia braid. Hooks and eyes and white metal studs to front. Twisted silver shoulder-cords, with Royal Arms buttons and bearing Major’s crowns in gold embroidery. The pointed cuffs with a Russia braid crows-foot in the angle and edged with a double row of braid, the upper one forming an Austrian knot. A green ribbon of the Volunteer Decoration on the chest. Drab cotton lining ... Companion scarlet V-fronted waistcoat, edged with silver Russia and with hooks and eyes and studs. Pocket-openings trimmed with Russia forming trefoils at the ends and in the centre ... and a pair of blue serge trousers with scarlet welts to side-seams. Slight moth damage to waistcoat, otherwise good clean condition. (5 items)
WW2 Attributed Glider Pilot Battledress Blouse Uniform Jacket. A rare example believed to have been worn by 14878351 Staff Sergeant S.A. Walker of the Glider Pilot Regiment. The blouse is the 1940 pattern, to the left breast, padded 1st Glider Pilot padded wings. To each sleeve embroidered Glider Pilot Regiment shoulder titles, embroidered airborne Pegasus patch and Staff Sergeant rank. To each shoulder strap a maroon band. The interior with issue label for 1945. The blouse is in worn condition, small area of moth near the pilots wings. ... Accompanied by a small amount of original ephemera including: RAF Manston Sergeant’s Mess Members card, Membership card Chevrons club December 1947. 1947 Tailor’s Bill.
Eton College OTC Officer’s Service Dress Tunic. A rare example of this unique colour service dress made by Tom Brown for an Eton “beak”. Elcho grey serge, with plain lapel collar and patch pockets. White metal KC Rifles buttons to front and pocket-flaps. Pointed cuffs edged with light blue cloth piping. Shoulder-straps fitted with good bimetal badges for a Captain. Tailor’s label named to A M McNeile Esq. Minor moth damage, wear to right armpit. Archibald McNeile (1878-1937) was a master at Eton 1902-33. He was appointed 2nd Lieut. in the school corps in Jan. 1910 and relinquished his commission, by then a Major, in Aug. 1919.

A Victorian silver rowing prize coat and badge, by Stephen Smith, London 1883, The oval silver arm badge with laurel and ribbon border, chased with a shield-shaped cartouche depicting the arms of the City of London and the various parishes named in the inscription, centred by an anchor on a heraldically shaded gold ground, encircled by inscribed ribbons, the inscription reading 'Watermen and Lightermens Apprentices Annual Regatta', the number '22' chased between, 'Ferdinand J. Phillips', 'Presented by the inhabitants of the City of London, St. Dunstan, Temple, Lincolns Inn, St. Clement Dane Strand, and St. Martin in the Fields, Treasurer Mr. John Child' and 'Managers and Collectors John W. Audsley, City Waterman, W.H. Campbell, Waterman to Her Majesty', the badge mounted on the arm of a scarlet coat with green facings and wings, silver braid and green piping in the back seams, the badge mounted on a green oval backing patch edged in silver braid, length of plaque 18.5cm.
