George and John Deane percussion double 8 bore shotgun, 32 inch Damascus barrels, fitted with platinum breach plugs, the top flat engraved with a gun dog's head, the named side locks engraved with gun dogs chasing game birds within scrollwork borders, chequered stock stamped with 1792 serial number, with vacant silver escutcheon, steel cap to pistol grip and pineapple finial trigger guard.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a license.32 inch barrels.Condition report: The gun has a pleasing patina and the action works correctly. There are a few condition issues the main being the rib between the two barrels which is lifting slightly in two areas. The barrels have been cleaned up as the maker's address is faint. There is fine surface pitting to the metalwork generally. One bore has a patch of pitting (which I doubt will clean out) around midway through the tube, the other bore has no major pits but there is light surface pitting. The wood is generally good but there are some chips to the forend where the edges meet the metal of the barrels.

Cannot be posted to a private address and must be sent to a Registered Firearms Dealer.Condition report: The rifle is in good condition generally. The wood has very faint scratches but these are not too noticeable. The bluing has very little signs of wear and only the occasional minor rust patch on the outside of the barrel which would probably clean up well. The white letter in fill is lacking in places and has discoloured in other areas. The action works correctly and the spring feels strong. The bore looks bright without signs of rust or pitting. There is a vacant dovetail where the rear sight has been removed with the fitting of the breech mounted aperture sight.

Williamson (overwound a.f) and tow bags of Ceylon tea brought back by Woolley. Also a dog tag, ARP badge and uniform patch for L. Crp. E Gilford.

Japanese WWII period katana, mounted for civilian use possibly a home defence sword, the tang signed 'Kato Jumyo'Kato Zennosuke (Yoshinosuke) Jumyo (b.10th July 1893 d. 29th August 1956) worked at Seki in Gifu (Noshu / Mino province) and exhibited at sword forging contest in March 1941 qualified as 'second seat'. cutting edge length 67.5cmCondition report: Blade is straight and there are no serious damages or chips. There is some corrosion as illustrated online, the most serious patch illustrated in the sixth image along does eat into the cutting edge. The grip is slightly loose due to the retaining peg being a replacement. The grip shows signs of wear. Cracking to the lacquer along the joins of the scabbard, the black finish has some bubbling and flaking which has probably been repaired with paint at some point.

Pritchett with incredibly unusual rifling. the 28 inch Damascus barrels fitted platinum breach plugs, with fixed 100 and three folding leaf sights up to 300 yards, the top rib part file cut and engraved Alex Henry 8 South St Andrews Street Edinburgh, the rifling pattern .557 across the lands and the multi-groove 34 bore, consisting of two deep grooves for a mechanical fit bullet as well as two bands of nine shallow grooves, fitted into figured chequered stock with spring loaded patch box marked with initials S.R., gold escutcheon engraved with a hand and crown armorial, the trigger guard tang marked with serial number 3222, the two side locks engraved R. T. Pritchett within double line borders and fitted with safety catches. The oak case with its pigskin lining (typical of best quality percussion firearms by Alex Henry) with brass edges fitted into leather outer case bearing original owner's name Struan Robertson, the inside with maker's label to lid, fitted out with two boxwood boxes, one containing patches, an empty cap tin, wad punch, oil bottle, two ramrods of slightly different lengths, a G. & J.W. Hawksley leather covered powder flask, and a bullet mould marked A.Henry to cast the correct bullets for the rifle.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.Footnote: George Duncan Robertson, 22nd of Struan, 8th of Drumachuine and 18th Chief of Clan Donnachaidh was born on 26 July 1816.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. George Duncan Robertson, 21st of Struan, 7th of Drumachuine and 17th Chief of Clan Donnachaidh and Ann Outhwaite.He married Mary Stuart Menzies, daughter of Major Archibald Menzies, on 3 April 1839.1 He died on 3 April 1864 at age 47 at Isle of Wight, England, without issue.He was a Lieutenant in the 42nd Highlanders. He held the position of 18th Chief of the Clan Donnachaidh from in 1842. He held the office of Justice of the Peace, He was styled Struan Robertson.Clan Donnachaidh, sometimes known as Clan Robertson, William Forbes Skene (1809-92), Historiographer Royal of Scotland, wrote in 1837 that: “the Robertsons of Struan are unquestionably the oldest family in Scotland, being the sole remaining branch of that Royal House of Atholl which occupied the throne of Scotland during the 11th and 12th centuries.”

There is no visible pitting and only one light patch of grey in the right-hand barrel bore, this might clean out.

Percussion Kentucky Rifle, with 41 inch octagonal barrel approximately 60 bore fitted with buckhorn rear sight and German silver front sight, double set triggers, brass furniture and patch box fitted into artificially figured stock.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Condition report: The action works but there is no half cock. The double triggers get in a mess if you try and fire the gun off the front trigger without cocking the rear trigger first. The metalwork and bore have pitting all over. The stock has a crack around the muzzle end, a section missing around the lock area and has had a section let in half way down the forend on the left hand side and has the usual knocks and bruises. One barrel pin is missing.

The bore is dark but wth strong rifling, there is light pitting similar to the outside of the rifle. The action works correctly. The stock has quite a few dents, chips and scratches, it has obviously been carried quite a lot. There are no splits.
