A 1940s blue wool crêpe coat with a pleated hem; a 1940s black and white trimmed crêpe jacket and skirt, a black wool jacket with plaid patch pockets, a black jacket with grosgrain detail and a grosgrain skirt, an Elmoore of London red and black checked tweed suit, a DAKS pure wool checked jacket, a black wool suit and a 1980s brown grosgrain suit, the jacket decorated with appliqué ribbon work flowers. UK sizes 10/12 approx.
English School (c.1830), an oval watercolour on ivory portrait miniature of a young girl, with short blonde hair with single curl, oval neckline black dress with lace trim and blue ribbons to the shoulders, 4.8 x 3.8cm., in a rolled gold pierced scrollwork frame with brooch back. * Condition: Inside face of glass dirty. Darkened line to paint to left, top and bottom edge of oval, possibly due to reaction with mount. Right hand side of oval has some rubbing to background colour and a patch of paint residue to inside of glass - possibly due to water ingress at some point. Some fine craquelure to black paint on dress visible through a lens. Frame in good condition.
Horse racing and Champion Hurdle interest, four silver trophies awarded to the champion racehorse Saucy Kit, trained by 'Peter' Easterby and famously ridden by Roy Edwards to win the 1967 Champion Hurdle Challenge Cup at Cheltenham, to include: the owner's silver replica of the Champion Hurdle trophy by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd., London 1967, 7¾in. (19.7cm.) high; two covered trophy cups by the same maker, London 1965, inscribed for the 'Kempton National Hunt Centenary Cup Hurdle', 27th Dec. 1966 and 'Wolverhampton National Hunt Centenary Cup', 31st Oct. 1966, both ridden by Edwards; and a large silver gilt trophy, for the 'Beverley Races, The George Habbershaw Trophy' dated 24th August 1966, ridden by N. McIntosh, 15½in. (39.5cm.) high, gross weight 87.5 tr.oz; together with a large framed hand coloured photographic print of 'Saucy Kit'; a smaller mounted monochrome copy of the same portrait photograph by Rex Coleman for Baron Studios; and five enamelled Sandown Park, Ascot and Epsom member's badges dated 1954, 1955 and 1957. (11) * Provenance: By family descent from Saucy Kit's owner, Mr. K. F. Alder. ** Condition: - Challenge Cup: Very good, with no faults. - Wolverhampton Nat. Hunt: Horse finial bent over slightly with one of front hooves detached from cover. Any easy repair. Otherwise very good. - Kempton Nat. Hunt: Very good condition. - Beverley Races: A few scratches to surface which have caused lines of tarnish to gilt and a patch of tarnish approx. 2 x 1in. to back of foot. Needs cleaning. - Photos and badges: In good condition, with no faults.
Andrew Beer (British, 1862-1954), Study of a group of white doves feeding oil on canvas, signed 'A. Beer' lower right, in contemporary gilt running pattern frame 12¼ x 35½in. (31 x 90cm.) * Condition: Not relined. Large canvas patch to right hand end verso, with repaired tear to canvas with retouching showing to front around the repair and a jagged white separation line in the paint along the line of the tear. Another small white line visible approx. 4in. to the left. Two other tiny patches verso approx. 2in. above the large repair. Cleaned and varnished in past 20-30 years. No other retouching visible when examined under UV. Some small repairs and some losses from gesso and gilt on frame.
A 19th century English botanical part dessert service, possibly Rockingham, comprising a large tazza with twin foliate strap handles, 7.75in. (19.75cm.) high; two oval dishes with twin pierced foliate handles, 11.75in. (30cm.) long; three dishes with single pierced foliate handle, 10in. (25.5cm.) long; and twelve 9.5in. (24cm.) plates, all hand painted with garden flowers within pale grey and ivory foliate and cell diaper borders, painted pattern no. '256' to all but one dish, one with painted no. '8170'. (18) * Condition: All have some gilt wear to gilt tendrils around edges of white reserve and on gilt rims. A few small scratches and scuffs to painted decoration, but decoration good overall. Tazza - both handles with old wire wrapped repairs. Patch of brown discolouration to centre of well. Twin foliate handled dishes - the example marked 8170 with small crack to one handle. Otherwise good. The other broken with old stapled repair and large crack around base. Three single handled dishes - two good. The third with firing crack to foot rim. Plates - all in good condition with no chips or cracks.
Henry Wilkinson (British, 1921-2011), Springer spaniels flushing a pheasant, coloured etching, signed in plate and also signed and numbered 47/150 in pencil to margin, 9 7/8 x 13½in. (25 x 34.3cm.). * Condition: Some light foxing to etching and mount. Light mount burn and smaller darker patch of mount burn lower right corner.
A Meissen style porcelain patch box, 19th century, rectangular form with waisted sides, domed hinged lid with Watteau-esque scene to centre within raised gilt scroll work border, topographical scenes to all sides, scroll thumb piece, underglaze blue crossed swords with initials E. and C. above and below, 2¼ x 1½in. (5.75 x 3.75cm.); together with a smaller oval 19th century porcelain patch box, floral bouquet design with pique work style gold enamel, gilt metal reeded mounts and shell thumb piece, 1½ x 1in. (3.8 x 2.4cm.). (2) * Condition: 1. Good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Some wear to gilt mounts. 2. Star crack to base. Tiny firing crack to interior just below hinge.
A Chinese Ming period heavy porcelain inkpot or inkwell, 15th / early 16th century, of shallow drum form with bands of raised hobnail decoration to the rim and foot, glazed overall with a thick bluish glaze, the flat top with cobalt blue painted spoked wheel decoration and blue painted band to the hobnails beneath, centred by a glazed well with overhanging rim, the unglazed footrim with visible wheel marks, 3 3/8in. (8.5cm.) diameter, 1½in. (3.8cm.) high. * Condition: Three shallow chips to rim of well and a small chip and some minor frits to outer rim and hobnails. Some glaze wear to outer edge of top. Deep scratched patch from the making (under glaze) to side.
Edwin Hayes, RHA (British, 1819-1904), 'Morning off the Pigeon House, Dublin' oil on canvas, signed lower right, inscribed to gallery label verso 9¼ x 13¼in. (23.5 x 33.75cm.) * Provenance: O. B. Graves Art Dealers, 205 Dundas St., London** Condition: In 1920s-30s gilt frame with glazing and foliate moulded corners - painted gold with water gilded outside edge - has not been removed from frame since that time as back paper (although torn) is undisturbed. Original canvas - not relined. Some light craquelure visible throughout - surface appears stable. Stretcher line visible to top and left side. Tiny nick to surface of canvas showing white beneath to top right corner. Examined under UV - patch of retouching visible to right hand margin, just above wooden posts - no other retouching or repainting visible. Would benefit from a light clean.

Keith Waite (British, 1927-2014), A cartoon for The Sun newspaper, depicting the prime minister of the day, Harold Wilson as King Canute, seated on a beach in The Isles of Scilly, holding back an oil slick from the Torrey Canyon disaste, pen and ink and watercolour with minor corrections in white paint, signed lower right and dated ''Sun' 20.3.67' upper left, 8 x 10 7/8in. (20.25 x 27.5cm.); together with another UK political cartoon by 'Vicky' (Victor Weisz) depicting the leader of the Conservative Party, Edward Heath, 'Thank goodness, we don't have a one-man-band like those Socialists!', pen and ink, watercolour and coloured pencil, signed and dated 'Vicky Brighton '65', 10¼ x 13½in. (26 x 34.25cm.). (2) ** Condition: - Wilson: Good condition - paper very lightly and evenly time stained. No other faults. - Heath: Vertical fold crease through centre of drum and some smaller creases to paper visible. Paper has some time staining, a few dirty smudges, a few small fox marks and light mount burn. Small abraded patch to paper surface at lower right corner.

A French silver and enamelled patch boxOf oval form, the hinged cover worked with an amorous couple vignette and inset with a mirror; together with a white metal matchbook case with engine turned blue enamel decoration. The former 6 cm wide. (2) CONDITION REPORTS: Both generally in good condition, expected wear, the former with some slight rubbing and minor dints and bruises, the latter with minor dints and bruises and some surface wear.
A Dutch marquetry inlaid Sutherland tableOf small proportions, the hinged twin flap rectangular top above two small frieze drawers, standing on ring turned legs and end trestle supports united with a turned stretcher. 56 cm wide. CONDITION REPORTS: Veneer patch missing to top, some chevron banding sections missing, leaves bowed some veneers lifting, some splits, some other small veneer losses, general wear.
An 18th century George II/III walnut bureauThe feather banded top above the feather banded fall with brass escutcheon enclosing a leather lined writing surface and a fitted interior with column mounted drawers, above four feather banded graduated drawers with brass handles and escutcheons, standing on bracket feet. 91.5 cm wide. CONDITION REPORTS: Some fading, some splits and repaired splits to sides, patch veneer repairs to top, some small veneer losses, small loss to bottom left hand corner of fall, both right hand corners of fall repaired, some beading lacking, leather replaced, general wear.
A PEL (Precision Engineering Limited) Art Deco tubular chrome three piece lounge suite, later upholstered in beige leather, each piece bearing PEL plaque to bottom of rear rail. Settee width 158 cm, height to top of back 80 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Each armchair has light scratching commensurate with age to the tubular frame but otherwise this is in generally good order. There are some light patches of wear to the leather on the arm rests commensurate with use although these are slightly more obvious on the right hand side arm of the settee but generally the leather and all items are in good order although there is a very tiny nick to the left hand side rear of the seat of the settee and tiny nicks to the bottom of the front section of the settee. The tubular frame has surface marks commensurate with age although on the front right there is a 3.5 cm rubbed patch (most likely visible from image).
An early 19th century longcase clock movement, with dial by Mitchell of Cockermouth, with weight and pendulum, thirty hour. CONDITION REPORT: 32.7 mm wide, 47.5 cm high. Small amount of chipping to the left hand and right hand edges. Painted dial is crazed but intact. Has an unusual pink coloured patch to left hand side of faux winding hole. 30 hour movement appears intact.
