North Italian School, 17th century- Portrait of a pikeman; oil on canvas, 36x30cm CONDITION REPORT: in a carved and gilded Neoclassical frame, 18th century framing has been cut down and gilt surface is rubbed canvas is not re-lined on a wooden stretcher which is not the original has repairs sewn into canvas centre left and one patch paint surface suffers from raised craquelure throughout under inspection with uv lamp there is evidence of retouching in the lower section of the costume of the sitter there is a repaired tear to the left of the shoulder centre right the paint surface has been re-varnished and cleaned at some point in time this varnish has bled through to the reverse of the canvas overall in fair to good condition

PATCH ALEXANDER: (1889-1945) American General of World War II. A good vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph depicting Patch seated in a half length pose, in uniform, at his desk, signing a letter which appears before him. Signed in dark ink across a largely clear area of the image, 'To Their Majesties and my lovely friends from A M Patch, Lt Gen U.S.A.' and dated 5th June 1945 in his hand. Contained in the original presentation frame to an overall size of 9.5 x 11.5. VG The present photograph was apparently presented to King Leopold III of Belgium (1901-1983) King of Belgium 1934-51 and Princess Lilian of Belgium (1916-2002) Second wife of King Leopold III.

Push mark/ tear to canvas right hand side. Stretcher shadow. Rubbing to edges with minor loss to canvas top edge. Stable cracquelure. Surface dirt and discoloured varnish. Not examined with a UV light.
Thomas Cooper Gotch RBA, RI (1854-1931) Self portrait in profile Oil on canvas, 58cm by 44.5cm Provenance: Christie's South Kensington, May 26, 2005 In restored condition. Re-lined, cleaned and re-varnished. Re-touching/ over-paint across forehead, linear overpainting to hair strands at temples and horizontal patch to the top of the head approx 3-4cms long. Further small sized patches of re-touching at the bridge of the nose, below the nose and towards the cheek. Minor re-touches within the hair and one or two on the neck and a slightly larger patch to the nape of the neck. Some strengthening to the shoulder/ silhouette, across left hand side background and lower edge. Paint is somewhat thin across his jacket, with small sized cracquelure throughout and around the crown of his head. Better, albeit slightly flattened impasto within the face. Cockelling to canvas. Superficial surface dirt and scuff to top left hand corner.

Very superficial scratch upper left hand side approx 2cms long. The canvas is showing through in some areas ( by execution) around the lower edge. Small patch of paint loss right hand side edge and 2-3 further small areas along lower edge. Retains impasto and surface.

A Japanese cloisonné silver wired vase Meiji period, of tapered ovoid form, the dark green and goldstone ground decorated all over with butterflies and moths, 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high. * CONDITION: In good condition overall. Some small spits to the surface of the enamel from the making, mainly around the neck decoration. A small patch of scuffing to the surface of the enamel above the foot and a few small scratches.
A pair of Japanese cloisonné hexagonal baluster vases Meiji period, with fine silver wire decoration of flowering prunus, the base of the tree surrounded by irises and other flowers, the slender elongated necks with a band of inverted lancets mirroring those around the base, signed to base (probably Masa or Sho for Ryozo Hattori, 7¼in. (18.5cm.) high. (2) * CONDITION: One vase has a small patch of very fine hairline cracks to one side at the centre of the neck, and a tiny impact mark above. The other vase is in very good condition. No other damage or restoration noted.

An Imperial German M1910 Prussian OR’s infantry field grey tunic, modified into a simplified M1915 Waffen rock and re-issued, brass buttons, red and white embroidered shoulder straps; Iron Cross ribbon; lining stamped “7JR” (Jager Regiment) also “B.A. II 1912”. Together with a pair of post 1915 grey wool trousers, with slight field modifications. GC (very slight patch of surface mothing)
A .177” Britannia “pop out” air pistol, c 1930, of blued steel, the butt marked “The Britannia” with figure of Britannia and “Made in England” Near VGC for age, retaining virtually all original finish (very small patch of pitting, scear fails to engage); in its original carton with coloured printed label. Clean Condition for age (light wear to lid and staining to label, 3 pellet holes in base).
Large Moorcroft vase of 'Leaf and Berry' design, 38cm high. Condition Report Generally in good condition. Light glaze cracks in some areas. Small, yellow patch on one of the green leaves. Signed W. Moorcroft to the base. No obvious chips or damages to the main body of the vase. Under glaze chip to the base, where there is a slight dent to lower rim.
An early 17th century joined and inlaid oak refectory table, having a planked top with cleated ends, the frieze inlaid probably with holly and bog oak, the whole raised upon four heavy baluster turned cup and cover supports with proud reedings, united by low square cut stretchers, w.213cm, d.88cm, h.77cm Condition Report / Extra Information Provenance - purchased from the local antique trade approx. 30 years ago, consigned by a private vendor downsizing. Top and base possibly associated. Both sides of top with 3 equally spaced patch repairs (suggesting once hinged and possibly from a coffer). Four legs each with some old shrinkage splits, however table structurally sound and stands well. Centre of top with three pairs of two patches. Some wax fillings to holes on top.

Warps to top, two shrinkage splits, and three circular patch repairs. Legs good, no breaks. Column with two shrinkage cracks. Top appears to have been re-affixed to brass support. Appears all original and unrestored.

Wear, dirt and scuffs. Under UV light the surface overall is cloudy white. Possibly revarnished, although the finish is currently dull / matt in appearance. Craquelure. Some lifting of paint,and flaking. Some areas have flaked off and are missing - particularly amongst trees, and an area to the right of the picture, but also some small flakes missing throughout. There is a dark patch / glue visible to the back of the canvas, and a probable repair to the bottom centre. Frame has chips and losses.
