Lot 1203

A rare Ansbach scent bottle and patch box combined, c.1780, modelled as Pedrolino or Pierrot from the Commedia dell'Arte, wearing a wide collar and brimmed hat, left in the white, his head forming the stopper, with gilt metal mounts and a hinged cover enclosing a small recess for patches, some good restoration, 8.6cm.

Lot 241

CZ 550 7x57 bolt action rifle, serial number F2505, with 24inch sighted barrel, Czech proof marks, chequered stock fitted with Buffalo River bipod, the action topped with a Bushnell 3-9x40 scope.UK FIREARMS LICENCE WITH 7mm or 7x57 VARIATION OR RFD REQUIRED.112cm long The rifle is in above-average outward condition. The bore has a ring of corrosion several inches ahead of the chamber, there is also an odd scattered corrosion spot dotted around. The bore returns a brown-coloured patch and whilst a good scrub with a wire brush might improve things, there is probably some underlying pitting below the surface corrosion. The action works correctly. The metal finish is good with no signs of wear. The stock is generally good but with a few fresh looking surface dents and marks. There is a blob of black glue or similar beside the rubber recoil pad. The scope presents a clear picture and the lenses are free from damage. There is the odd scratch to the black finish of the scope tube. The adjustment ring is stiff to operate.

Lot 246

Ruger No.1 7x57 falling block rifle, serial number 113-17741, with 22inch sighted barrel with sling loop, London proof marks, chequered stock fitted with Harris 1A1 Ultralight bipod, the action topped with a Rhino 6-24x40 AO scope. UK FIREARMS LICENCE WITH 7mm or 7x57 VARIATION OR RFD REQUIRED.98cm long The rifle is in below-average used general condition and would benefit from a full strip and clean up. The bore has some darks marks within the first section of the rifling ahead of the chamber. These marks are probably light pitting and the bore returns a light brown cleaning patch. There is the odd spot dotted around through the rest of the bore. Aside from this, the rifling looks reasonably crisp and in good general state. A good scrub out with a wire brush could probably improve the state of the bore considerably. The action appears to function correctly with a good lock-up. The blued metal finish has the odd scratch and light mark, there is one small surface corrosion spot to the barrel just ahead of the rear sight. The woodwork has some scratches and light dents, there is a short split emanating out from the trigger guard tang area.  The scope has some scratches and marks to the finish. The ocular lens is loose.
