The teapot has a dent to the body and an odd-looking patch to the base. The sugar bowl has a ding below one handle. The milk jug has some dings under the spout. Victorian mahogany bowfront chest of drawers, two short and three long graduating drawers, turned handles and feet, width 106cm, depth 51cm, height 104cm.Condition report:The top has an historic scar, approximately 20cm long, which has been filled but still very evident as it falls across a particularly dark patch of the top surface. The rear left hand corner of the top has an old veneer patch and adjacent to that some heavy splitting and coming away of the side strip. The veneer is splitting and lifting elsewhere on the top surface. Some old spots of blistering and scorching to the top. Missing patches of veneer to the drawer fronts and drawer spacers. All drawers are ok by way of their lining and remain functional. They would benefit from waxing to run smoother. The sides have some old marks and scars, and some colour variation.

A Victorian locket ring, the hinged cover set with a ruby and pearls, with a yellow metal flower embossed shank. Size M1/2, weight 2.3gms Condition Report:All pearls in situ, ruby bright, has a little scuffing to the top facets, but not eye visible. One tiny dent to the back of the locket, and a patch of discolouration don't know what this, is, possibly just dirt. the locket works ok, although someone has tried to glue it shut with nail polish, the residues can be seen inside the locket.

Otherwise in fair condition overall.

N. for Henry Herringman, 1670.⁂ Contains the poems upon which Greville's literary reputation principally rests. Greville was a lifelong friend and biographer of Philip Sydney and became and elderly patron of D'Avenant.

A children's classic, rare signed and in the dust-jacket.

Fleming (Ian) Casino Royale, first edition, neat ink ownership inscription dated 1953 to front free endpaper along with small patch of browning, original boards with heart design and lettering in red, light bumping to head of spine and corners, clean and bright otherwise, first issue dust-jacket without Sunday Times review, head of spine and upper corners a little chipped, a few short nicks with light creasing to head, usual foxing to lower panel, small internal chip to upper panel, small patch of browning to front flat, light rubbing to extremities, an excellent example overall, preserved in custom morocco-backed drop-back box, 8vo, 1953.⁂ A bright and excellent example of the first James Bond novel. Increasingly difficult to find not price clipped and unrestored.

Fleming (Ian) Moonraker, first edition, first state with "shoo" on p.10, neat ink ownership inscription dated 1955 to front free endpaper, original boards, lettered in silver, light crease to spine, dust-jacket, spine with light toning and a little creased at head, light surface soiling, small patch of surface wear to foot of upper panel, light rubbing to extremities, but an unusually bright and excellent copy, preserved in custom morocco-backed drop-back box, 8vo, 1955.⁂ The rare first state, especially unusual without any of the usual fading to the colour of the jacket.

Music.- Bach (Johann Sebastian) Grosse Passionsmusik nach dem Evangelium Matthaei...Vollständiger Klavierauszug von Adolph Bernhard Marx, first edition of the vocal score, engraved throughout, with 3pp. list of subscribers and contents leaf, publisher's ink stamp to title, contents leaf slightly frayed at margins, some annotation in pencil, occasional very light offsetting, the odd spot or patch of light soiling but still a crisp copy, modern cloth-backed boards, corners bumped, endpapers renewed, oblong 4to, Berlin, Schlesinger, 1830.⁂ Published in the wake of the famous performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion by Mendelssohn in March 1829, before which the work was virtually unknown outside of Leipzig. The score is arranged by Mendelsohn's great friend, the German musical theorist Adolph Bernhard Marx. This copy with the plate number 1571 missing on p.42 and 176, but correct on p.143 and p.157.
