** A SOUTH GERMAN CLOSE HELMET FOR HEAVY FIELD USE, CIRCA 1550-60 with one-piece skull rising to a high medial comb decorated along its crest with notching and pierced at the nape with a pair of rivet-holes for the attachment of a missing plume-holder, visor, upper bevor and lower bevor attached to the skull by common pivots with radially fluted heads (replaced), the forward-sloping visor with a roped step in front of its broad single vision-slit and pierced beneath it with six diagonal ventilation-slots, the prow-shaped upper bevor pierced at its right with six small circular ventilation-holes and at each side with a later and larger hole of trefoil form, the lower bevor projecting forward beyond the chin, and the visor, upper bevor and lower bevor each secured at the right by spring-catches (that for the visor missing its combined pull-release and lifting-peg, and that for the upper bevor with a replace catch), and two gorget-plates front and rear, all the main edges of the helmet with notched inward-turned edges, accompanied in part by recessed borders (the crest of the comb and the lower edge of the front gorget plate with small perforations, the right of the neck of the lower bevor with a small riveted internal patch and the whole with an oxidised finish) 33.0 cm; 13 in

** A SOUTH GERMAN BURGONET, CIRCA 1560 with pointed one-piece skull boxed in four panels, rising to a prominent baluster-shaped finial, the upper half of which is faceted and the lower writhen, projecting forward to a flat acutely-pointed upturned peak and backwards to a similar but shorter and more obtusely-pointed downturned neck-guard pierced at its centre rear with a pair of suspension-holes, and fitted at each side with a later hinged cheek-piece flanged at its forward and lower edges to serve respectively as continuations of the peak and neck-guard, and pierced at its centre, within a raised circle, with four small auditory-holes separated by a four-pointed star, the skull retaining an old quilted lining, the main edges of the helmet formed with file-roped inward turns accompanied by recessed borders, and its surfaces retaining a blued overall finish (now lightly pitted, the skull with a plugged hole at the upper end of one of its facets and a patch at the front of the cut-out for the right cheek-piece) 23.0 cm; 9 in

A GOOD REGENCY BRASS-INLAID ROSEWOOD DINING TABLE having a circular crossbanded top with inlaid foliate decoration and strung border, tilting action, the spreading square section column with conforming brass inlay, the concave quatre-foil platform base raised on four out-swept legs finishing with moulded brass animal paw caps and brass castors. 71cm(h) x 136cm(d) Condition Reports: Central split to top, marks to centre, small veneer depletions around brass stringing, some attention paid to brass inlay, some veneer splits to base with small patch repairs, the tilting actions platform peppered with old worm holes, a good example but viewing advised.

A rare original 1930’s DZR company flag. A full size flag possibly flown at the companies Zeppelin air stations in Frankfurt Germany or in Recife in Brazil during the period 1935-1937. The flag measures 285x180cm and is of red cotton with black and white detailing with the Eagle, Zeppelin and swastika motifs. GC for age and rarity. Has some significant repair patch to one red segment and some holes and small stitched repair. A very rare item. See Back Cover.

Main pot very crazed throughout there is a patch of browning approx 1 x 2 cm staining to the bottom of the pot which goes from out side to inside, see photo, small areas of rubbing and flaking to the green decoration around the rim, a small pin head chip to base of foot in a couple of places, lid very dirty and crazed

Fiji 1948 ½d perf 12, complete unmounted sheet of 60 with central vertical fold. R5/8 `extra palm frond`; also R1/7 bar of colour at right, 2/2 falling coconut, 3/9 patch on sail and 5/3 strong impression. SG 249b, ba (£173)/CW 26,a

South Africa 1930 1d black and carmine, mint marginal block of twenty pairs (4 x 10), with Control B and black sheet number. The top two rows are normal; the left stamp in the third row has a small part of the frame missing at lower left; the fourth to seventh rows show complete omissions of frame except a very small part on the last stamp in the fourth row, and the top of the frames on the eighth row is omitted. The block is unmounted save for one normal stamp and a patch of missing gum on another normal stamp. One of the most dramatic blocks in Union philately. SG 43b (£9000+)/CW X2c

One has replacement back, possibly rexine and leather another back is patched. Loss above scroll on one arm and watermark. 99 cm high. 63 cm wide. 68 cm depth.

An unusual sequence of Pith Paintings, mid 19th century, apparently depicting scenes from the life of a white-bearded man: his birth, his school days, making obeisance to him, travelling in a sedan chair in old age, praying to his body and to an altar his memorial tablet to one side, and his cremation, some damage, 20.5 x 33.5cm CONDITION REPORT: Image one, large section missing from top right hand corner. Female figure seated on right with two sections missing. Split to bottom centre rising to central figure. Small tear to left hand corner. Image two, small tear to left hand corner, small tear to right hand side. Image three, staining to right hand side of shrine, small tear to right hand side Image four, large tear to top right hand corner, small tear to bottom left hand corner, some nibbling along top edge. Image five, small tear to left hand corner. Image six, small tear to right hand corner and a vertical tear to top 5cm tom top right hand side, small pin prick to small off centre top. Small stain patch bottom left hand side off centre.
