Four novelty silver and enamel menu holders designed as galloping racehorses, the jockeys in enamelled red and black silks, the group comprising two Edwardian examples by Samuel Jacob, London, 1902; and a later pair by Garrard & Co., London, 1968, 4.8 x 9.8cm, total weight approx. 5.4oz (4)  Condition Report: Good overall condition. Some minor surface scratching and nicking commensurate with age and use. Some minor losses to the enamel of Edwardian pair. Slightly more losses to enamel on the Garrard's pair. All hinges working well and menu holders sit up as designed. A small patch of solder noted to one arm of menu holder on a Garrard's example (to reverse).

A George III silver three piece tea set, London, 1809, Daniel Pontifex, designed with decorative trellis weave banding to bodies and raised on four ball feet, the teapot with stylised branching handle and applied shell and foliate decoration to spout, the handles with ivory insulators, teapot 25.5cm long (tip of spout to handle), 14.5cm high, each piece engraved with crest, total weight approx. 49.5oz (3) Ivory submission reference: MS8DA2WB  Condition Report: Teapot weight alone approx. 28.4ozThis tea set shows evidence of wear and damage. Scratching, nicking and minor pitting noted to all pieces. Some wear to decoration, mainly at high points. Teapot: Hallmarks to underside clear. Reinforcements and solder to the lower body above the legs. Some dings and bruising. Wear to the crests. Damage to the undersides of ball feet. Wear to the crest. Patch to handle. Small split to end of spout. Knop on finial is off-centre, Ivory insulator beneath finial has split and is being held together by a small piece of wire. Repairs around upper rim of weave band above feet. Possible repair to hinge. Some wear to decoration. Some small splits to ivory insulators. Sugar: good overall condition. Wobbles on feet. Some holes to undersides of ball feet. Pale gilding remains to interior. Some dings and bruising to body. Some small patches of solder noted to undersides of handles. Small split forming to the inside at one corner. Hallmarks partially rubbed. Jug: Poor condition. Buckling to lower half of body as well as reinforcements and repairs. Dings and bruising. Reinforcement/repair to spout. Handle is bent and also pushing in at lower join. Spout misshapen .Damage to undersides of ball feet. Wear to crest.

Family medals comprising two groups, firstly Distinguished Conduct Medal and 14-15 trio awarded to Battery Sgt Major C. W. Dutton R.F.A. along with pin backed medal ribbon bar, also a further 14-15 trio awarded to Gunner J. H. Dutton Royal Garrison Artillery, also a cased silver commemorative shooting medal won by Cpl J. Dutton at the annual prize meeting, has VR in the bar so probably a Victorian prize medal, therefore J. Dutton may have been an older relative. The lot includes a cap badge, overseas chevrons, a divisional patch, a Warrant Officer's sleeve crown, a quantity of photographs and paperwork including copy citation for the DCM and discharge certificates for C. W. Dutton.

Arts & Crafts oak dresser, designed by Ambrose Heal for Heal & Son, dentil cornice, the panelled back with two fixed shelves and two cupboards, base with two drawers over two doors, metal strap hinges, turned legs joined by stretchers, stamped to drawer 'HEAL & SON LONDON', width 164cm, depth 56cm, height 191cm.Condition report:No evidence of worm. There is a moulded block missing from the front left underside of the cornice. The shelves and top of the dresser has numerous heavy dark burn marks/ stains throughout. Slight splitting of the top from the righthand edge. The back panels have split on the base section on the left hand side, and the third plank from the right on the dresser top has also split, just visible from the front (in the recess behind one of the oval burn marks). The drawers are sound and relatively clean. The Bottom right hand cupboard interior has a large patch where the wood seems to have corroded (if wood can corrode). The metalware has spot corrosion and tarnishing. The overall structure remains very sturdy. No keys for the top cupboards

Delgado Guerra (Josef) Tauromaquia o arte de torear á cabello y á pie, second edition, 30 engraved plates after Ascenio Julia coloured by a contemporary hand, a crisp, clean copy, ink stamp and small book-label to endpapers, contemporary calf, gilt, rubbed, worming to foot of spine, patch of abrasion to head of upper cover, [Bobins 1397], 8vo, Madrid, Venga y compañía, 1804.⁂ The second, substantially enlarged edition of this celebrated work on bullfighting. The first edition included only half of the present text as well as two, uncoloured, plates. Delgado Guerra (1754-1801) was one of the most prominent bullfighters in Spain until his death in the ring, an event immortalised by Goya in his series of bullfighting scenes published as La Tauromaquia in 1801. Ascenio Julia was a friend and disciple of Goya's. ⁂ Provenance: Denver Art Museum (ink stamps); Charles Bayly, Jr. (book-label).

Sitten, Gebräuche und Kleidung der Russen aus den niedern Ständen.../Costumes, Moeurs et Coutumes des Russes, 2 vol. in 1, ?first edition, titles and text of vol.1 in German and French, vol.2 in German only, 68 fine hand-coloured engraved plates after Geissler (40 & 28), text foxed, occasional browning to plates but generally clean, plate 25 in vol.2 with worn patch to corner causing small hole but not affecting image, contemporary glazed marbled boards, rubbed, [Bobins 1926; Colas 1207 but calling for one volume with 40 plates only], 4to, Leipzig, [1801-04-n.d.].⁂ The painter and draughtsman Christian Gottfried Heinrich Geissler spent the years 1790-98 in Russia and worked as artist for the naturalist Peter Simon Pallas on his second scientific expedition to southern Russia. Colas calls for only one volume under this title, containing 40 plates and published in 4 parts from 1801-04. At the end of the preface to the second volume Richter states that the drawings for the second volume were executed in March 1805.

Lowes after Elijah Walton, each mounted as issued with printed caption in margin, tissue guards, additional title with repair to fore-margin, patch of browning visible to additional title and first few ff. of text, patch of damp-staining visible at upper margin of later plates and text, original half morocco, lettered in gilt on upper cover, repair to upper cover affecting a few letters, a little rubbed, g.e., [Bobins 1419], folio, Sampson Low, Son and Marston, 1868.⁂ A fine series of views, primarily of the Western Alps, including the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, Monte Viso, Aosta Valley, Dent Du Midi, and The Grivola. Walton was commissioned by William Matthews, founder of the Alpine Club, to capture a series of views of the Alps, a project that would occupy him for the next 5 years. The text was provided by the geologist T. G. Bonney, who would go on to become the president of the Alpine Club in 1881.

Under UV light there are multiple areas of retouching to the sky and the huntman on a grey. A large area of retouching to the left side of the main tree on the right hand side. There is a repaired jagged tear to the left of centre, below the water. Smaller areas of retouching to the other horses and scattered retouching to the hounds and lower part of the painting. Some areas of thinness to the paint, particularly to the trees, which is probably due to overcleaning.

JUDITH LEIBER A MULTICOLOURED FLORAL MINAUDIERE Covered with Swarovski crystals, with a press lock to the top, gold tone hardware and a gold tone chain strap, opening to a gold coloured interior, with a coin purse and comb Dimensions: 15cm x 10.5cm x 4.5cm Condition Report: There are a few crystals missing from the sides, they are not very noticeable unless inspected closely, but there is a patch of missing gems from the base of the bag, the patch is left white. A few crystals have slightly discoloured. There is some rubbing the the gilt metal work, some where metal just showing through. Some slight bends to the chain. A PAIR OF ART DECO DIAMOND AND ONYX CUFFLINKS CIRCA 1930 The octagonal panels with rectangular cabochon onyx centres within a border of eight cut diamonds, with polished triangular onyx panels to the corners, with associated hook connectors Size/dimensions: 1.1cm long Gross weight: 6.9 grams Condition Report: The panels may be a mixture of cufflink panels and a button as one has a slightly different fitting only visible to the reverse. the hook attachments may not be original. One of the triangular onyx is missing, another onyx is banded and most of the stone is a pale and translucent with a black patch to the centre- but it doesn't look like a replacement.
