CONDITION REPORT: The leather case is in nice condition throughout. The handle is good and not perished although there is slight opening to the leather of the grip but I believe it is not too detrimental. There are some scratches beneath the grip on the top of the lid through handling. There is a small fingernail patch of ink on the rear lid edge. There is a small scuff to the top edge of the fall front and the right hand upper edge has been slightly folded over where not shut correctly. The plush lined trays appear to be in good order. The lid to the body retaining strap is in good order. The front lock and both side clasps are firmly attached and in working order. The locking plate is engraved “Made by KIU YIH”. The front lower left corner has a slight deterioration about 1 cm in length. There is some slight staining to the underside of the case but overall it is pretty much intact. Within the leather case there are two sets of mah-jong rule books and a score card. There are 144 game tiles, 4 black sided tiles and four counters marked 1,000. A Chinese export lacquer games box cover and stand, early 19th century, each piece with gilt decoration against a black lacquered ground, the lid opening to 15 boxes and covers, various forms, all on a shaped stand with ruyi head feet. CONDITION REPORT: All the decoration from the lid surface has been erased. The gilt decoration around the sides of the lid is still intact although the lacquer is very crazed. The interior of the lid is very crazed. One of the larger interior boxes has a very slight split on the corner of one lid. Another large box has a small rubbed patch to the gilding on the decoration of the lid. A further lid is slightly warped but still fits nicely. One smaller shaped box has a small fingernail size flake missing to the lacquer on the lower section of the body and also on the upper section of the body the lacquer is flaking. A further smaller box has a small split to the corner edge of one lid. The interior finish on five of the smaller boxes is blistering and lifting. The main box that houses a smaller box has a full length repair to one edge. The ground throughout is crazed. There are patches which are dull and look like restorations and also the gilding is dull in areas. The separate stand has small repairs and splits throughout. Overall this is a rather tired piece.

Ginnosuke Yokouchi (1870-1942), Japanese street scene beneath stormy clouds with figures outside buildings, signed, watercolour. 62 cm x 46.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: First impressions of the picture are that it requires a clean. There are very obvious foxing patches; the off centre left at the bottom and also at the bottom right hand corner and a further smaller patch to the bottom left hand corner. The two larger patches run approximately 20 cm from the bottom of the picture and are approximately 7.5 cm wide each. There are further patches of spotting throughout the sky. It may have been that the picture has been subject to damp conditions as the paper does not lie flat. However, having said all this we are sure that once it does have a clean it will be a rather attractive picture.
A pair of Chinese Famille Verte chargers, post Republic period, enamelled with flowering baskets and shou and with wavy rim, pseudo six character Kangxi marks. Diameter 45 cm. CONDITION REPORT: These are not of any significant age. Both are free from any post production cracks, chips or flaws. Both have small amounts of discolouration, one has a small patch of pitting. The edges of each have been artificially rubbed in order to give a perception of age. Both ring out nicely when lightly tapped. Given what has been mentioned they still remain large and decorative chargers.

Glass diameter 3.8 cm, 7.3 cm closed (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The shagreen case is in good order throughout. The edges, top and the hinge area are slightly worn and faded but it is generally a good uniform colour. Generally the shagreen on the glass is in good order however there is a small tiny patch which looks like a repair which has replaced six small cells. The eyepiece and housing are in good order as is the single draw. The end lens housing has a single crack and a small piece of ivory missing, the screw which this fits to has a 1.5 mm x 2 mm section of ivory missing. Both the glasses appear to be free from any scratches or chips.

There are numerous losses to the floral encrustations both left and right. There is also one branch missing at the rear behind the shield. There are several chips and nibbles to the Rococo base.
A Bow bocage figure of a dancer, circa 1760/70, modelled as a young boy wearing a plumed hat and long jacket with fanciful trousers all with floral pattern standing in front of a large floral encrusted bocage and on a Rococo scrolling ground with further applied floral sprays and heightened with gilding and turquoise, unmarked. Height 22 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There is a patch to the reverse of the bocage where a leaf was once stuck and in the same area a branch has been broken off. Two branches of the upper section of the bocage have been knocked off and oversprayed. On the reverse of the bocage to the upper left hand section a leaf has been broken in half and a there are further leaves throughout the bocage which have small chips. On first view the flowers all appear to be intact however some, though not all, have petals missing or chipped. The figure's left hand has been off and is restored. Given its faults this is still a rather attractive piece and we would think the faults are inline with something of this nature. I can see no obvious faults to the base or the remainder of the figure.
Three Sunderland lustre plaques, 19th century, two with religious texts with shell and scroll moulded borders, the other with printed garden scene, all heightened with enamels. Largest diameter 24 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The plaque inscribed “Praise Ye The Lord” has a small restored patch to the lower border otherwise there are no obvious further cracks or chips. There is a factory flaw running across the letter “L”. Other than that mentioned there are no further post production faults. The floral landscape plaque has a small slither chip to the bottom right hand corner though this does not impact on any of the decoration. There are no post production faults or flaws visible. On the biblical text example the lustre has faded and is now a very light pink/orange colour. There is a very small amount of glaze rubbing to the top left hand and right hand corners. The right hand corner has two minute nibbles on the reverse. The glaze is very finely crazed. Other than those mentioned there are no further post production faults visible.
A blown glass gin pig, with silver collar, possibly for Edward Langridge & Co., Birmingham 1904. Length 55 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Under a jewellers loop as you look at the pig its left ear at the rear has a rough patch however we cannot see any cracks or chips but there are two small patches that look to have been polished. There is no stopper. The tail is of a clouded colour. The silver collar is in good order however the initials of the maker are ever so slightly rubbed. The other marks are clear and legible. Other than those mentioned we cannot see any further obvious faults.
A collection of late 18th/early 19th century English porcelain tea bowls and saucers, to include factories Worcester, Newhall, Derby, and a single Chinese Famille Rose fluted saucer (19). CONDITION REPORT: Seven tea bowls are free from any chips or obvious chips, cracks or flaws and ring out nicely. Two tea bowls appear to be in good order with no obvious faults but have a dull ring. One tea bowl has been fully restored and oversprayed but still rings out when tapped. One saucer is Chinese and has been restored but rings out. Five saucers are in good order and ring out. Two saucers have star shaped hairline cracks to the underside. The monogram saucer has been broken in two and has three large patches of unfinished restoration. A further pair of saucers, one has been broken in two and glued whilst the other has a 4 cm x 2.5 cm patch of restoration. One tea bowl is misshapen and has 20% of the interior enamel decoration erased.

Five points of bulrush leaf tips are missing. There are large chips to the leaves at the foot of the base missing. A third of the base has been broken reattached. There are further small patches of glaze missing amongst the reeds throughout. There is a large thumbnail chip and two further smaller chips to the side of the base. Ideally one would come and view this item.
A Farnham type pottery owl, 19th century, with incised feathers against a green ground. Height 13.8 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Looking directly at the handle there is a small 4 mm x 4 mm square glazed chip to the upper left hand side and approximately 4 cm below there is a small dark stained patch of which on the bottom are two small specks of missing glaze. There is a small patch of glaze rubbing to the peak of the spout. Looking at the owls face there is a small chip to the interior rim located just above the left eye. There is a further small glaze chip to the rim at the rear of the jug. There are small specks where the body shows through the glaze, whether this is deliberate or not we do not know. Other than the flaws mentioned the body appears to be free of any significant chips or cracks.
