Finney (Jack) The Body Snatchers, first English edition, light browning to text, original boards, dust-jacket, very slight fading to spine, minor creasing to head and foot, small patch of browning to lower panel, light rubbing to extremities, an excellent example, original wraparound band (a little spotted, short nicks to foot of joints, lightly toned at spine), 8vo, 1955.*** Finney's classic science fiction horror, first published as a pulp paperback in the US. Scarce with the wraparound band. 

Macdonald (George) Phantastes: a Faerie Romance, first edition, half-title, 16pp. advertisements dated October 1858, a clean copy generally, Westleys binders ticket to rear pastedown, ink library stamp of Wesley College library to rear pastedown and endpaper, bookplate to rear pastedown and patch or surface wear to rear endpaper, ink ownership inscription to front free endpaper, upper hinge cracked but firm, original blind-stamped olive cloth, spine browned, spine ends chipped, ink library number and some marking to spine, [Sadleir 1479a], 8vo, F.E Smith, Elder & Co., 1858.*** The author's scarce first novel, an important early fantasy title and an influence of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.

The Time Machine, first edition, first issue with 16pp advertisements at end including those for 'The Manxman' and 'The Naulahka', foxing to endpapers, otherwise a clean copy generally, original buckram lettered in purple with Egyptian design to cover, browning to spine, light bumping to spine and corners tips, small light patch of staining to head of upper cover, light toning to cover margins, still an excellent example overall, [Wells 4], 8vo, 1895.

Potter (Beatrix).- Weatherly (Frederic E.) A Happy Pair, first and only edition, 6 chromolithographed illustrations, each monogrammed H.B.P., original wrappers with upper cover illustration by Beatrix Potter and lower cover initialled H.I.M., original silk cord and tassels (one detached but present), slight wear to spine, patch of soiling to lower cover, continuing on to facing leaf, a near-fine copy, 16mo, London, Hildesheimer & Faulkner, and New York, Geo. C.Whitney, [1890].*** A superb example of first book illustrated throughout by Beatrix Potter, rare in such condition. Potter utilisied some of the card designs she had sent to Hildesheimer & Faulkner for which she was paid £6 with a request for more sketches. Faulkner himself failed to impress Beatrix Potter, who noted in her journal "he did not strike me as being a person with much taste"; it was however the commencement of her professional career and she went on to regularly provide Hildesheimer & Faulkner with further card designs.

Maude Goodman (1853 - 1938), 'Taller Than Mother', signed and dated 'M. Goodman '92' (lower left), oil on canvas, 72 x 42 cm, in an ornate giltwood frame 105.5 x 75.5 cm;and associated publications: Henry Blackburn's Art Handbooks 'The Academy Notes 1892' - No. 91 (illustrated); 'Royal Academy Pictures - being the Royal Academy Supplement of 'The Magazine of Art', 1892 (illustrated); 'Black and White' handbook to the Royal Academy and New Gallery Pictures 1892 - No. 91 (illustrated), a German postcard depicting the painting, and a fragment from Pearson's Magazine with an article on Maude Goodman illustrating the painting. Exhibited: 124th Royal Academy Exhibition, Burlington House, 1892Purchased by the vendor from Abell Auctions, Los Angeles, May 2018 thence a Private Collection. One small patch to the canvas is evident from the rear, I have taken an image from the area of the front of the canvas to show or not where the repair has been. The paint surface is clean and bright and has obviously been cleaned and restored sympathetically and doesn't show any glaring areas of repair/damage paint loss or crazing.

Bing - A large Limited Edition #40012 jointed, growling 'Bernie Golf Bear' by Bing. The golden bear with plastic eyes wears red jumper tartan trousers, with tartan hat, and comes with putter and golf ball. The bear has Bing swing label attached which numbers 'Bernie' 2 of 100 produced. There's a small faded patch to the head, otherwise the 76cm high bear appears to be in Excellent condition. The bear comes with branded carry bag which appears slightly sullen but generally in Good condition overall. (This does not constitute a guarantee) (K)

Victorian Cream Silk Wedding Dress with multi pleated trims to the front, cuffs and hem, button fastening, three quarter length sleeves, silk fringing and pleats to the skirt with long train, open patch pocket to the reverseOne of the seams at the back has split.  Overall the dress in good condition, some discolouration around the button area, some buttons lost silk mounts, light staining and wear under both arms and a couple of tiny splits to each armpit.  Net to collar rubbed and rubbing to the hem.
