WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE BOWL by Daisy Makeig-Jones, internally decorated with eight fish within a herringbone surround and a well-executed scene of fairies seated beneath three trees concealing tree-sprites or wood nymphs and spiders webs, chinoiserie boats and islands with buildings beyond, in a probable variation of the "Jumping Faun" pattern, the exterior with a "Feather Hat, Woodland Elves" design featuring flying sprites and spiders webs, the whole with orange flame, greens, purple and pink lustre enrichment, printed mark (version 2) and painted number beneath (54*1 over 7, unidentified, 24cm diameter x 12.5cm high. Internal wear/scratching to centre and sloping booge - probably had plant pots kept in it. Exterior bright & crisp - small patch of thin glaze but otherwise good. No chips or cracks. A pair of Staffordshire 'Disraeli' spaniels, seated to the left and right, with black patch markings, gilt collars, padlock and chain, black and yellow features, black curls to forehead, separate moulded front paws, 26cm high, c.1870. These dogs with curls on their foreheads are named after The Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli who favoured a similar hairstyle.
A 28-BORE SILVER-MOUNTED SAW-HANDLED FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOL BY P. BOND, 45 CORNHILL, LONDON, serial no. 4982, London silver hallmarks for 1807, 16in. overall, with unusual signed twist polygonal barrel (small patch of minor dents) with octagonal breech section, silver spider fore-sight, octagonal patent breech with gold-inlaid line and gold-lined touch-hole, tang incorporating the rear-sight and engraved with foliage and a martial trophy, signed flat bevelled detented lock decorated with a martial trophy on the stepped tail and with safety-catch (replaced), 'French' cock (top-jaw and screw replaced), rain-proof pan and roller, figured walnut half-stock (small crack at side-nail), chequered butt, set trigger, full silver mounts including spur trigger-guard engraved with a trophy of arms on the bow and with pineapple finial, and later horn-tipped ramrod (loose replacement ramrod-pipe), London proof marks. A Battersea enamel rectangular casket shape patch box, the hinged cover with love bird and motto ‘Token of Regard’. 1.5in. (3.5cm.); an oval patchbox, with motto ‘A present of Leeds’; a third oval patchbox, the hinged cover with birds nest and flowers with motto ‘ A trifle from Liverpool’ (chipped) and another oval patchbox, with motto ‘Remember the giver’ (cracked and repaired). AN ITALIAN CLOSE HELMET FOR FIELD USE CIRCA 1580 with rounded one-piece skull rising to a roped medial comb, visor, upper bevor and bevor attached by common pivots with radially-fluted heads, the visor with strongly-stepped, centrally-divided vision-slit, fitted at the right side with a lifting-peg (replaced), the blunt prow-shaped upper bevor pierced at the right side with nine small circular ventilation-holes in rosette formation, the bevor and pierced stud secured at the right side by a swivel-hook and two gorget-plates front and rear, the upper front one repaired with riveted internal patch at right end, the lowest front one restored, the main edges of the helmet decorated with roped turns accompanied, in the case of those of the gorget-plates, by recessed borders, the subsidiary edges with single incised lines (some pitting overall)

A 20-BORE PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE, late 18th century, converted from flintlock by John Wiggan, with 29 3/4in. octagonal twist sighted barrel rifled with eight grooves, scroll engraved breech, foliate engraved tang, signed flat bevelled bolted lock with foliate engraved stepped tail, figured walnut half-stock with raised cheek-piece, chequered grip and fore-end, iron mounts including pivoting patch-box cover (trigger-guard slightly distorted, finial standing proud of stock), and horn fore-end cap, and horn-tipped ramrod (iron parts with some pitting throughout).

MANTON, LONDON, second quarter of the 19th century, with 30 1/4in. twist octagonal sighted barrel signed on the top flat towards the breech and rifled with fourteen grooves, scroll engraved breech inlaid with two platinum lines, scroll engraved tang and detented bolted lock, walnut half-stock with chequered grip (some bruising, small chip to fore-end), scroll engraved iron mounts including hinged patch-box cover, and later ramrod, London proof marks.

Interesting and attractive Karabakh long rug south west Caucasus dated 1901 (or 1909) 8ft.8in. x 4ft.2in. 2.64m. x 1.27m. Narrow band of wear and slight damage left side centre one or two other very small areas of wear slight damage with minor losses lower end top end ragged (both ends have recently been ‘opened’ having been stitched under); some glue adhering to reverse (including small glued patch). A number of Karabakh long rugs with extra guards at the top or bottom containing Armenian inscriptions are known several of them with the same borders and outer guards as seen on this rug. See for example Manuelian and Eiland Weavers Merchants and Kings nos. 46 and 56 (probably Karabakh) as well as no. 14 (same border and outer guard); also Eiland Passages...Inscribed Armenian Rugs nos. 32 and 46 (extra upper blue ground inscribed guard and same outer guard pattern and on the latter the same main border pattern) and no. 15 (white inscription on blue ground field as well as same outer guard and main border patterns). The presence of large crosses of the Armenian type in two of the large central diamonds as well as the two white crosses with ‘arms akimbo’ on either side in the upper main border enforces the Armenian connection.
